Who is going to be most important race?

ranger, i wonder what our real significance actually is. We have really done 3 main things:
1) Killed Ra,
2) Taken Teal'c
3) Blown up apohis ships.

We have also made some "friends" some of which may become alliances.

I wonder how really important we actually are however, we are certainly not technically advanced compared to quite a few other species. I really don't think that many Goa'uld lie in bed at night worrying about what the people of earth will do

Good points on both sides really. BTW we also killed Seth and Hathor and had a hand in the destruction of Sokar. <G>
One of the strong points on (IMHO)for the Tau'ri is that we do tend to fight back. The System Lords have been 'lording' it over the universe for so long because no one has really fought back. The Asgard are busy worrying about the Replicators, the Nox were hidden from them, the Tollen ignore them, and the Ancients left. Every where else they go, every one just acquiesces to them and let's them have their way. We've definitely thrown them for a loop.

we seem to be the most active of all the races as far a disrupting the status quo. All the others for various reasons have been content to let this remain as they are.
Of course,even the Tau'ri dont want thing to change to fast before they are ready or prepare for the next step what ever it may entail. I think finding allies out there is part of that program of eventully facing the Gou'ald in outright war and not just acting on one System Lord at time.

that i am afraid is still the case. We can't pull gate bunnies , every time they come in ships. I assume they are already planning a little expedition here right now but with probably a few more ships and won't play games this time. It is really not that hard to destroy a planet is it and we do only have 1 of them!!!

(p.s. we need to build up a big beta planet somewhere NOW with lots of people on it, in fact more than 1 would be good.)

The problem with the allies we have right now, is that none of them want to really get involved. They are all willing to let the people of Earth fight the Goa'uld without taking an active hand in it.
What's going to have to happen is that something is going to have to force these people's hand.

I'm almost of the mind that the Nox, Tollen, and Asgard aren't really allies, but neutrals.

The Nox are certainly neutrals however i think they naturally prefere us because we are the lesser violent of the two species.
The asgard are just too busy, i think they may be better allies when they sort their own problems out (but perhaps series 4 has already addressed this).

Tollen, no idea, need to watch those eps again .

So yeah, very few allies. The Tok'ra are perhaps are closest although i don't trust them 100% but they are our best allies i would think.

We need far more allies or we are going to get beats soon

I'm almost willing to give the Tok'ra the benefit of the doubt, but so far the only thing that's happened between them and us is that they informed us where O'Neill and Co. were being held by Hathor and stuff in Season 4 that doesn't really make them seem like 'allies' in the truest sense of the word - except for what they can get from us.

There is that, but that was more Jacob I think than the Tok'ra per se. Wait till you see Season 4. Some of what happens just reinforces those people's opinions as to the true intentions of the Tok'ra and their relationship with the Tau'ri.

The most important race is going to be the one that has the greatest impact on all the other civilizations. This has to be the Tau`ri. Although the Nox and tollans show their strengh thru their technology I dont actually believe they have the capability or the stomach for a fight. The Nox defend themselves with stealth/cloaking technology which would be useless against the goa`uld if they found a way to detect them. The Tollans are another race who have kept themselves hidden from the goa`uld and if found probably couldnt defend themselves either in the long run. The Tokra are a small group of Goa`uld terrorists and I say Goa`uld because my gut tells me that once the system lords have been deposed they will try to enforce their own "Galactic Order" and we will become their Jaffa or Jafaa however u spell it (duh)
Out of all the other races (except the Asgard) non possess the technology or the background to challenge the Goa`uld or any other enemy force.

That just leaves the Tau`ri but even their luck is gonna run out especially if the American Government insist it remains a USA only project, but then they have always done that since WW2.

Send the Brits in hehe thats what I say... "get our cousins over the pond out of a sticky wicket then back to the mess for kippers and tea"

I would assume that the US hasnt told the UK about the StarGate on the basis that the few who know the less likely for leaks (their track record so far aint so good while just keeping it a US secret). Though, if the Russians know then I can see how the UK doesnt know....Even If they dont find out through intel gathering on the Yanks surely they must know thru spying on the "Rooskies".
Until the US finds themselves in bind where they need some sort of expertise (ie Carter doesnt know) than they dont have and the UK has their hasnt be a reason to let the Brits in on the secret.

Well we've yet to see where they are going to take the Russian thing. They may decide that they need to start informing the other 'allies'. Right now it's just Air Force and Marines. Which makes me wonder when they are going to start bringing in the other branches of the US Military.
For now though, I think it's a matter of numbers. The less involved, the less we'll have to worry about what kind of an impact the different nations are going to make on Gate travel. Every country is going to have it's Maybourne's out there and they really don't want that. Then there is always what would happen if Egypt found out. Would they demand the return of the Stargate since it was found on the Giza plateau and be considered an antiquity?

Thor

The Asgard are going to be the most important Race in STARGATE, Because the Asguard arbitraited the treaty between the System Lords and Earth.
Also SG1 Saved Thor's Life when the Spiders attacked, So you can imagine how much gratitude Thor has for SG1 and Earth.

Thor does hold alot of weight with his people, I would imagine that his people, Once the Spider bug threat is over will protect Earth from any more attacks from the System Lords.

Yeah I keep wondering when we're going to meet the Furlings and if the Ancients are ever going to put in an appearance somewhere along the way. It would be interesting.
