Thought the writers said they'd never do that

A hospital environment is SUPPOSED TO BE (my med mal practice says otherwise) a clean environment. And, having a sufficient amount of military in my family, you're shouting at the wind. I understand mores have gotten better over the last 2-4 years (after Tailhook and enought sexual harassment scandals, all of the branches of the military took a black eye and needed some really good PR; "The General's Daughter" did not make them happy). I agree regarding the field/hair length. But I don't see Sam's character as having been hampered by the extra 3-4 inches of hair that made her look more feminine. It fit under that olive green hat just fine.

But, regs are regs. Butch it is.

Hair

No prob. Our personal perspectives are what make each of us unique.:}

I just don't see myself as butch because I was a military female [or, in my case, retired after 21-some years] with short hair. That'd be like saying I was butch because I was a health care provider with short hair.

Which I was... for 30-some years in and out of the military.

Everyone's Milage May Very. :->
