oh i think i prefere here but then we have seen more of her. I like her "fisty" attitude against Jack but would like to see more interaction between her and Teal'c.

I like Carter, but I've got to admit that I was getting a little perturbed with what they were doing with her.
Specifically how it always seemed to be 'Carter to the rescue'.

She was made smart, beautiful, and they gave her Jolinar's Memories to boot. In some ways I felt that they were leaving the other characters behind.

Sometimes her gobuldey gook sprouting techno-lingo does look a little rehursed as well but sometimes she does it so well. I still think she is my favourite character by Teal'c now comes in a very close second and may overtake!

I like the way she tries not to laugh at Jack little stupid remarks. Also like the interaction between her and her dad. But I agree with paders I would like to get some more dialogue between Carter and Teal'c. Seen very little of that.

Now that you mention it, Sam and Teal'c hardly ever converse with each other. Maybe Sam is prejudice against Jaffa. Maybe she has a thing for people with snakes in their stimachs. Or maybe she just forgets he's there.

Had to post it 6 times Aye! But I don't think Sam is prejudging Teal'c's larvae. They just don't have a lot in common. Or maybe they do, but they have to start talking so we can find out. Let them be captured together, put them in a holding cell for a couple of days, they will have to start talking then.
But we would have to find someone brave enough to tackle Sam and Teal'c. Not me ;)

I think Marleen is right....in any small group of people the members are going to interact differently with one another based on common ground. They might all four hang out together but just Jack and Danny might hang out together at Jack's place drinking beer and rehashing their first mission together (the movie) or Danny and Sam might hang out at the cafeteria shooting the breeze about some piece of alien hardware brought back to SGC by one of the teams.
 
I like the character of Sam. She is intelligent, courageous, compassionate, sensitive and dutiful. She cares deeply about her teammates and is passionate about her job. I enjoy watching her in different situations and how she uses her intellect and reacts to her teammates.
 
My opinion is that Carter great!
I only wish that she was in the movie as she said she nearly was (In pliot)
It's funny how the writers play with her feelings towards Nerim, Jack, Martouf etc, maybe because she is the only female memebr of SG-1?
 
sam definitely has the disadvantage of being, in her own words 'the girl'. which when you're the only real female on the show, other than fraiser, it's natural you're going to be seen as romantic fodder for the guys.
personally i would like to see more of her and teal'c too, something i thing the actress has been quoted to want as well.
right now( really minor season 4 spoilers ahead)


she and daniel seem to be paired up a lot more than usual. and those of you who have see season 4 will know why.

all in all, i adore the character of sam carter. a female character in a sci-fi show who isn't there: a) for a love interest to eventually be killed off, b) male appeal(read 7 of 9 here) and c) just cause an all male show is boring.
 
I agree. I hope no romantic relationship developments between the team members, it would ruin the show and I am pretty sure will not be done. She is a great character I have to agree, can be "fiesty" but also generally the caring, ie not trying to be a macho bloke type figure if you know what i mean?

On the 7 of 9 thing, true that was the major motive they put her there but despite that she is really not a bad actress and the character is quite an original one. I do miss kess though. Still i would prefere Sam to 7 or 9 but perhaps that is weird taste?
 
I also like Carter. Her presence as a viable character helps the shows appeal. Her paring with Danny is understandable but would like to see More of Carter and Teal'c. That is one reason I like a Matter of Time Season 2 so much. They really seemed to have a good friendship and we saw some of the interaction of it. Had some in Foothold, also, but not as much. But you felt the trust and caring! Come on writers...Lets do more Carter and Teal'c.
 
I'd love to learn more about Sam's past - her relationship with her dad and brother and any past loves.
 
Yeah, i'm thinkin if there's seven series we might...
She looks different in The Devil you know (When Apo. is using the Bloood of Sokar on her......
That is the only time we really get into her past.....
