That's got to be a good episode! Mmm, it will be interesting to see Sam taking over again. She doesn't really get much of a chance to.

Yes, we need a Sam or a Sam and Janet rule episode where they boss the guys. It has been too long since Hathor!

here...here...yes i agree with you totally jsc...there is a definite lack of 'girl power' eps. i think that's why hathor's one of my favs...did you notice sam has a bad habit of whacking her superiors? she knocked hammond out, got jack zatted in season 4, killed 'jack' in foothold...and blew up the o'neill...methinks there might be a little repressed aggression

In Hathor Sam knocked out Hammond while he was protecting Hathor when she and Janet the women and Teal'c tried to take back the base. She was upset after she knocked out Hammond tho....I guess she didn't feel to much aggression toward him....old family friend and all. Perhaps her Dad made her resent Male authority just a tad~ because he was sooo carear oriented and ambitious. I still think Selmak has been better for Jacob that he will admit as Selmak has made him less adamant on having his own way and gotten him and Mark speaking again. But then perhaps for Selmak's own agenda a peaceful mind might be the best!

no i don't have season 1 on tape although i'm begging for the dvd set for mom's day or an easter present cause the preorders are sent in april. i have been downloading s1 from gammaquad which is a great site.
been fun refreshing my memory and seeing the character growth in each cast member. does anyone know exactly what epis are on the dvd set cause if im not mistaken the ad said s1 and s2 best??? shows????

in hathor it's just after the girls break out, someone tries to stop then, a girl steps in, hammond tries to stop her and sam knocks him out. the funniest part as as he falls she looks down and goes 'yep, my career is over' to which janet replies, 'don't worry. as soon as this is over i'll fix him up good as new' and sam goes 'yeah, so he can bring me up on charges' (ok so i really like that scene or can you guess )

i don't know if sam really has something in for the guys, it's just coincidence that when she's in charge they get whumped.(though personally i think jack deserves a little whumping )

just rewatched that ep- don't remember it that well-it was soooo cool. loved the chitchat in lock up--sam's-momma said there'd be days like this and tr's mae west impression was great.

i love towards the end when they're in the same room as the sarc & hathor comes in...it's rambo fraiser time...absolutely priceless that the woman who gave the gun such a dirty look in the beginning is shooting like she's done it all her life...
wonder what she & teal'c got up to in the iinfirmary afterwards?

i just like the fact that sam got one over on the guys, sorta made up for that dress and well all of emancipation... oh this is so cool!!!!

really sky?? you didn't like emancipation? that was one of my favs- i loved the end when sam got to kick that guy's butt. they really don't put her into too many over the top outfits (except maybe the Broca Divide) compared to other shows or even some other females in this one like with tokra spice anise's get up- she's mostly in fatigues which really don't do anything for a women body at all.

my only problem with emancipation was that they fell back on the 'let's go rescue the girl' scenario...true sam did whump the heck out of turghan and i liked that part, it did redeem the rest but...i felt like it just accentuated the 'she's the token girl' idea...
which they didn't do since which i like...except for her not having a boyfrined. all the guys have but...well if Sam sleeps with an alien then she's not going to get the 'atta girl' response like the guys get she's gonna get the 'you SLEPT with him' response...

just the simple fact that it's more socially acceptable for a guy to sleep around than a girl.
