and they used several trucks to power the gate(though how they got the trucks moved, wired up and ready to go on 15 minutes is TOTALLY beyond me....

the first sentence said was in COTG (obviously) and it was something like: are u guys allowed 2 play down here? or something, it was the scene when they were playin poker in the gate room when it activated and apophis came through

i have no idea bout the backup planet thing, but the needle thing is probably from Into The Fire, it was either said by Mjr General Hammond (aka Hammond of Texas) or former First Prime of Apophis now Shol'va of the Serpent god of the night Teal'c
bra'tac says something like: 'threading the needle is a skill for the young' and when he said needle he was refering to the wormhole, Hammond of Texas 'threads the needle' with T-man to get to Hatjors planet where the rest of SG-1 were being held captive by Hathor
