Actually i've been around and keeping an eye on the posts, but I thought that Rowan was doing such a great job, I would leave it to her.

And I would like everyone to give Rowan a HUGE pat on the back. She is now an and integral part of the Gatecon team after we adopted her last week. Rowan is our new venue scout (I know she has an official title, but for the life of me, i can't remember what it is), and has been doing some fantastic work. Thanks Rowan.

As much as I'd like to say we're moving the Con, I can't. We're staying in Vancouver, BC for 2001 for several good reasons. One is the cast and crew. Accessability is always important from both sides of the fence.

And, actually ... with the US/CAnadian exchange rate, Canada gives most of us a further stretch of our funds. And I *am* sorry for all the Canadians on the list. I know it's hard on you folks. That's why everything possible is being done to keep costs as low as possible for all concerned. I'll be spending a part of either this week or next in Vancouver doing the 'Hotel Walk-Around' of four or five possible sites to make sure that we get what we need to make this work for everyone: fans and guests alike.

After all: I'm a fan too. :}

Thanks for letting me tease you about LA. I know that this city is one of the more expensive on this coast! Just kidding but still hoping!

Well more of the cast can be there! That's good news especially RDA's agreeing to consider! The people of Stargate must have had a great time if RDA did not out right say NO! Great Work!

Aussie Gatecon Experience

Well all I can say is that even from way Downunder, I still managed to get over there for Gatecon 2K. I had an absolute blast of a time and thank yo to all the organisers who did such a bloody good job in making it the best time ive had. And what about Gatecon 2001? Well theres not a snowballs chance in Netu that i'm not going to be there. Yes I am crazy enough to fly all da way from here again. Congrats again to Fryn, Richard, Allan and Sue for a marvellous time.

Glad you have posted and thank you for dropping by. You all did a great job with Gatecon 2000, the evidence for that is piling up. Not only a GREAT WEB SITE but from what people say and and fact that RDA might actually go because his co wrokers were more than suitably impressed.

Poke around here and enjoy. Post and if you don't find the topic you wish to discuss make a new thread in the appropriate section. For the readers among us we have the Fan Fic section with so very good fics on it. Two you can have fun and post on, the one line and FAN FIC round robin style. We also have a good book section just starting up. It is on the screen to your left. Under Books. Have three genres so far, SF, Fantasy and Horror.

It's about time you got in on the act. And Rowan is right, you can't hide anywhere... We almost have the whole Gatecon Team in Here now. This is going to make answering questions so much easier (and make my job as the moderator redundant ?)
