Fav Character (David Eddings)

Yeah, that's what I liked about Elenium/Tamuli, that it wasn't as heavy as Belgariad/Malloreon, the characters seemed a lot more comfortable with each other, and Sparhawk seemed to fit the hero role a lot easier than Garion as well. I also love the fact that even though a sequel, the Tamuli was just as stong, plot and entertainment wise, as the original Elenium. Where as I felt, as much as I love the Malloreon, it fell a little short of the orginal Belgariad standards.

the only way the books are different is that the B and M u grow up with garion as he doesnt know about the world so we grow with him, and sir sparhawk and the E ad T goes straight into the action as if we know wats going on. He explains why he writes that way in the rivan codex, do u think he sould write a Eand T codex?

OMG I would LOVE to have an Elenium and Tamuli codex. That would be great - and I was always sad that one never followed the Rivan Codex.

More then a codex I would love another series from Sparhawks world. And like Sir_Sparhawk says it would be great see a Styric goddess assuming the throne of Elenia. I'd always wondered what would happen if Martel had had children, who when all grown up wanted revenge on the Sparhawk for killing Martel. ....I've always thought it was sad there was no one to avenge Martel even though he was the bad guy.

An Elenium and Tamuli Codex? That'd be a good idea. To paraphrase Zombie, it'd be great to see the behind the scenes in Cimmura and elsewhere. I also like the idea of another sequel of some kind, although perhaps with a different main character?

With Prince Talen as main character! And Danae/Aphrael/Flute as Queen. That would be awesome :D

Would that mean Ehlana is dead then - if Danae is on the throne in a sequel that would kinda mean Ehlana had passed away. I can't see her much stepping down.

Or she's been forced to abdicate cause we've shipped her off to the Island of Annoying Characters :p

xXx

....oh dear, this just begs to be written doesn't it? I can see the dust jacket blurb: "Join Talen and Flute as Queen Ehlana is shipped to the Island of Annoying Characters. Will they rescue her or decide to leave her there?"

hey doesnt that mean sir sparhawk would be in that book cause isnt he Elhanas husband?

That could be another quest: Sparhawk and his companions journey off to the Island to get their womenfolk back.:):D

Seriously, though, I'm not sure whether Sparhawk would be in a book like that, especially if the focus of the book was Aphrael and Talen. I'd read it, though.

I'd prefer a prequel myself. Maybe Sephrenia's history - Like Polgara, but not as smug - and seeing the whole 'thing' from a Styric viewpoint?

Or adventures with the Younger Gods. I think a book of Romalic would be entertaining!

Or (it needs saying) a WHOLE BOOK about Ulath. With pictures!

"Will Ulath's friends rescue him from the crazy fan girls before they reach the land of the quickie wedding - Las Vegas!"

...sorry, that one couldn't be helped. I can see us ... I mean those crazy fan girls sulking in the back as the joys of Vegas are discovered by the guys. All in cheezy late 80's / early 90's movie style.

On a serious note a prequel in the Polgara sense would be nice. It always seemed like Sephrenia had an interesting past; her baby sister is a goddess, what happened to their parents, being instructed to leave her home and take up training knights.

Good point about the Sephrenia prequel: I always wondered what her life was like, and then for her to discover all of the lies regarding Zalasta. Mind you, a bit from his viewpoint might make interesting reading, too.

Aye... a book about Sephrenia's origins would be nice... though it would kill a lot of the mystery surrounding her character. Meh, I'm ambivalent on this topic...:D

I love DG books - more towards BGariad then Ellenium, but one thing I find a bit of a put off is that everything is preordained - its like the characters have no choice esp in the Bgariad series. Love Sparhawk, but the whole Styric an Flute thing I just found irritating

Absolutely has to be Silk.

However a soft spot for Polgara for the sadness she had to experience in her life.

My fav character is Sparhawk.

He has the duty and honour of a Church Knight, but chooses to "bend" the rules when they become inconvenient.

hmmm, interesting thread. Now let's see....
from the belgariad/mallorean - probably Vella and/or Beldin
from Polgara - Asrana (the young asturian lady who called Polgara "Polly.")
from Belgarath - the Salmissra who had all her eunuchs knifed
from elenium/tamuli - Kalten because when he loves, he loves (makes me think of my husband) and empress Elysoun, especially in "The Hidden City."
from Althalus - Sergeant Khalor, Leitha, and Koleika Iron Jaw
from Dreamers - Ara and Rabbit

okay, gonna leave the box WAY behind here. I liked Faran. no not too many lines, but he DID find ways to speak his mind. and he took some pleasure in administering some rather pointed arguments of people who were annoying.
