kel sha,

i ask me if here is anyone who can read hieroglyph symbols and know what they mean ?
i 've visited some egyptian sites and there is much interesting information about learning reading hieroglyphic symbols ...

kree sha

Hey.
I don't know if i've graduated from being a 'newbie', but I have to admit that partly because of Stargate, I started this book, which was a 'teach yourself' to learn to read hieroglyphs. About a year ago, I finished the book, and decided to read it again, which tells you something about my character. why don't (or can't) you link it to this page? Or at least give me the address, I'd like to check it out!
Thanx.

Thanx, they're marked on my 'favourites', altho the 2nd link is a little too technical, I don't know what a pro-noun or particle is in English let alone Ancient Egyptian!
BTW, love your website! Has R.A. grant done many other A. Indian films then?
PS how do i get those cool little icons 'in' my message?

kel sha,

na great site is http://rodneygrant.tripod.com/ .. there you'll find his "filmography" and much other informations too -- i've seen him in stargate and in dancing with wolves .. but there are much other films in which he has played american indians ...

which icons do you mean ??

kree sha

Excellent site!!! So are you intrested in A. Indians or just R.A. Grant? (if u don't mind me asking!) BTW hav you seen Wind River? It's based on a true story, about Shoshone Indians. I saw it a while ago, and i thought it was quite good. Think it's coming on Sky today actually...

You know the lil icons like the faces or thumbs up/down - when I was writing this i could only choose one (the orange one with the sunglasses on?) And I've noticed other people's messages have like two, or a smilie face afta a joke... or am i being reely picky and silly...

kel sha,

i'm interested in american indians generally and i've a big collection of videocassettes from indian films and i've a lot of books about them too (the black/white pics on my homepage are from one of these books) ..

u can get for example :) :) :) or ;) ;) if u write a ":" and a ")" or the second with a ";" and a ")" ..

look to http://www.ascifi.com/forums/index.php?action=showsmilies .. there u see what u must post for smilies, ....

Thanx for the help, most of this is completely new to me! But, as soooo many people have said to me, 'practise makes perfect'. (Personally i feel that i have to perfect my Stargate watching and i watch episodes over and over again! :p ) OK, that was a weak joke, but i needed an excuse to try a smilie face. Anyway, i seem to be gently meandering off the subject...

so are u interested in the any other 'peoples': Aztecs, Ancient Eygptians, Greeks etc? (Once again the nosy part of my personality is surfacing...) Im just interested what draws people to Stargate, cos me, i'm just addicted, but i have no idea why. I was so  when they killed Martouf, Sha're (Hmmm, they'd make an interesting couple!!!) Ra and Heru'Ur off, and yet it's still my fave show. Altho i hardly eva watch anything that isn't Friends Buffy or Stargate related.

I'm gonna stop now, this message is getting too long, and most of it is about me! ;)

kel sha,

yes i'm interested in other cultures too -- it fascinates me how other people live (and sometimes i think they live a better way -- with the nature) ..

i was no Stargate watcher after it began in europe but about 1/2 year later i watches the pilot and some eps and since that i'll like stargate very much ..

i was very fascinated of the Goa'uld and i think Apophis is my favourite ..

perhaps there is one reason that i'll like it perhaps it is possible that these things could exist in real life .. but the main is that it fascinates me with its story, the actors play their roles very good, some specialeffects, the techologies ... ok i'll stop here or i get in an infinity loop :) :)

Just wanna quickly reply b4 i go to bed (it's nearly 10:30 here!)
What did you think of The first Ones and show & Tell? they were studying 'species' but not peoples, if you get that. I thought they were intresting, (and S&T was funny!) altho i couldn't understand all of the speech in The First Ones (being v. careful not to make a SPOILER!)

I asked in the Newbie Forum, but i may as well ask here as well. How do i log in? I keep trying to reply, and it says I'm not registered, and then when i try and submit my password, it says the connection may not b 'secure'.

 Neway, c ya 2moro!

kel sha,

i haven't a such problem with log in .. and this "secure" message didn't appear at me .. perhaps u should email one of the admins ...

i haven't seen "the first ones" yet 'cos they 're season 4 but i'll download it ...

*** POSSIBLY SPOILER FOR SPIRITS [2-13] ***

interesting was spirits 'cos the story of this episode is like earth and if the "spirits" of the natives wouldn't have protected the natives there would be the same "end" as on earth with the american indians ...
very interesting ep and i like rodney a. grant as "tonane" .. he play his role very good ..

kree sha

Yeah, i talked to padders about it. Turns out i just have an old computer. :(

So what season are you up to? For *once* England (Sky One)got to watch half of S4 before the US! ;)

Yeah, i thought R.A Grant was good. I love the way that he's so calm, yet friendly, but not at all condescending. The Goa'uld should try that.

POSSIBLE itsy bitsy SPOILER 4 MOVIE

Although Ra seemed to have the calm thing sorted. Is that a spoiler? IT doesn't give the plot away or anything.

Yeah, I pretty much like all the Goa'ulds, especially the Egyptian ones. i know you're supposed to hate them, but they never seem to do anything truly evil. Apart from taking hosts. And wiping out entire worlds. And trying to destroy Earth. But you gotta love 'em!

OK, i'm a freak! :D

kel sha,

we're up to season 3 ...

so verify the goa'uld's action with these of the tau'ri in teh last time ..

tau'ri:

they took black people, american indians and some other races differenting from their owan for SLAVES only for convenience ..

they throw A-bombs at their own people (hiroshima, ..) ..

they destroy the nature ..

the try to make them immortal (gene - technology) ..

they kill other creatures (animals) for fun ..

Goa'uld:

take hosts to live (i think this one is not evil !) ..

try to overtake worlds (expand their room to live ?) ..

so i think the tau'ri are much more "evil" than the goa'uld ... or if not more at minimum equal "evil" than tau'ri ....

ATTN: this things don't fit to ALL humans & goa'ulds ...

perhaps i've forgotten some goa'uld actions ('cos i haven't seen some eps) but i dont't think they are different from their actions in verification to the tau'ri ..

so that was my opinion to this topic ..

kree sha & have a nice day ..

Yeah, the Goa'uld destroy nature as well! You know, korush'nai? and they also took more people than only 'black people, american indians and some other races' for slaves. They try and blow each other up, destroy nature, and in SPOILER 4 BRIEF CANDLE

Is it Pelops (?) they find has messed the people's genes or somthing around.

I think, bearing in mind Teal'c's quote in Within The Serpent's Grasp/Lair (can't remember which one) about how the Goa'uld love to use the zat'nik'atel just once, shows that they are equally bad! Anyway, as far as i'm concerned, they should come and show us how 'bad' they are by attacking! Then I would be a faithful servant to whichever Goa'uld did come! Yeah, i know, i'm a shol'va to the human race.

Especially Apophis and Klorel. Or Ra. Ooops, am I dribbling? :p

kel sha,

you're right but i think there isn't much (no) difference in the "badness" between goa'uld and tau'ri ..

all the things you said from the goa'uld (love gunnin' down others, overtake worlds, let other people work without their agreement ..) fits to the most part of the tau'ri.
okay slavery is not as actual as about a few years ago but there are still countries left where slaves are "hold" ..

with this reasons i can't see no problem 'cos from the badness it seems to be unimportant if to fight on tau'ri or goa'uld side ..

kree sha

P.S.: HTH did we come from hieroglyphic to this topic ? :)

Hehe. Destiny. ;) It's all Tonane's fault!
Well, if i had a choice I'd definately fight with the Goa'uld, because apart from the fact that they're more powerful than us (altho SG-1 manages to beat them everytime...) as far as i can tell, women don't fight, only guys fight, so I could sit around and worship whoever Goa'uld decided to attack, and wait for SG-1 to turn up and rescue me. Or better still, bump into Martouf. :) Not entirely sure how... And besides which, I've grown up on this Earth (or that's what i tell everyone, anyway! :D) listening to the history of wars and famine, and drugs and politics, etc. So even if i was a slave to the Goa'uld, at least they'd keep me well enough to mine, or tend to temples, or whatever. And provided they turned up occasionally, so i could ask for autographs ... ;)

kel sha,

hehe i see ..

after overlooking this post i saw that only we 2 have discussed here -- that's very funny i haven't seen such a thread before (in any forum) :)

from where do you come, what is ur favourite actor in stargate and which season are u running at ur place ?

kree sha

Yeah, i know, and over 90 people have viewed this page! Thought i saw shadows lurking in the edge of my screen... :)

Erm, I'm from England, kinda ... down the bottom, near Dover ... i think, I'm amazingly bad at geography.
I don't know who my single fave actor is, i have quite a few: Alexis Cruz (Skaara/Klorel), cos he's kinda cute, J.R. Bourne (Martouf/Lan'tash) cos he's also kinda cute *blushes*, and Peter Williams (Apophis), cos he's just kewl. You know, i can see a pattern emerging looking at those three... they all have a symbiote...What does that say about me? ;)
I also liked 'Loren' from Season 4, (but you haven't seen that yet, so i won't tell you which ep ;))

On Sky, we're just ahead of Showtime at the mo, nearly finished Season 4 :(, but if i didn't have Sky, (Apophis forbid! [as apposed to 'God forbid']), I'd be watching 'Secrets', Season 2, on Channel 4 in about 3 hours. As it is, I've already bought the vid :)
Janet Frasier's also kinda cool - she has interesting hair ;)
Oh, i have an on-going debate with my sister, perhaps you can help: do you think Alexis Cruz's surname should be pronounced 'cruise' (as in Tom, *giggles*)or crus, as in ... not-nice-sounding-word. Yep, it's not only me, my entire family is insane!
And you're from Austria, aren't you? (Well, if I'm going to be all alone in a thread with you, I'm allowed to peek at your profile!) What Season are you up to, and who's your fave actor?
This post is dotted with yellow faces. Hehehehehe! Can an insane person go insanely insane?!

kel sha,

hehe seems to be u like the smileys :) :)

i have sometimes heard alexis' name and i also believe that it's pronounced "crus" ...
we're @ season 3 and the last ep was last wednesday and it was "Crystal skull" ... was a quite good ep ..

my fav char is apophis (i've nearly infinite pic of him @ my HDD :)) then there is klor'el and amaunet -- i'm also a "snake warrior" :) :)

yes, i'm livin' im austria and it's very very cold now (very seldom in winter isn't it ? :) :) :)

the TV station sending stargate in german is "RTL 2" and it's located in germany -- it's a pity but no austrian TV station is sending currently stargate but fortunately i've cable :)

kree sha

Yeah i think these smilies are sooo kewl!
Oh yeah, Crystal Skull is cool. Its funny, 'cos when i saw that ep, i didn't realise that there actually *were* crystal skulls in the world, and then I came across a book about them, and i was really surprised!
What's your HDD?
Have you seen Pretense?
You know how in England it's supposed to always be rain, rain, and more rain? Well, on Fri and Sat, It was actually SNOWING! So i had to walk home on the snow! (Then of course, I left my mobile phone on the bus and that kinda ruined my day :() It's so annoying, in the morning, it's absolutely freeeeezing, and then when you walk home in the late afternoon, it's like ... really hot. Anyway.
We can be snake warriors together! (That doesn;t mean we actually *kill* the Goa'ulds do we? Oh well, as long as there's a sarcouphagus nearby) ;)
