no there's no competition :)

i've seen fair game in german (on TV it is dubbed - badly dubbed) and the english version on my PC ..
there's a lot of information loss comparing the dubbed german version and the english version ..
and some scenes of the english version are cut in the german version (don't know why - they aren't violent or whatever ..) ..

and there's an advantage if i see the eps in english -- learning english while watching stargate is much easier and funnier :)

Yeah, Stargate's better in English. Not that I've heard it dubbed over, but what I've heard *of* it being dubbed over... ;)
How do you watch it on your computer? DVD or something?
When it;s dubbed over, do they distort the voices still? 'Cos otherwise it wouldn;t be half so good...

no it is a compressed DVD and this format is called DIVX -- a stargate ep in good quality has about 300-350 Megz - the stargate pilot (COTG) has 630 Megz ..
the dubbing is bad but the voices are nearly like the original -- if u hear it u can't recognize a difference between the voices in the english and the german version ..

BTW, you been 2 ne Gatecons? I don't really know if I want to go, 'cos a) it might spoil the reality of SG, and b)I'm generally quite a shy person, so I'd probly not talk to ne of the actors, and then kick myself aftawards! I might actually possibly have gone to the one in England a lil while ago, but I read about it on the Monday, when it had happened the day b4! God I was mad!
Why am I talking about Gatecons? No, I don't know either...
So, what's your fave thread in this forum? (Sorry, I can't rememba what i was gonna say in reply to the previous post, so I'm making new conversation!) ;)

the problem is that there is no convention in middle europa .. i think the only european convention is (was) in england -- if there is one in middle europe i think i would go there ..
it must be great to meet the actors in real life ..

i've read about it on www.gatecon.com and downloaded some pics but in real it would be more interesting ..

Yeah, I know what you mean. BTW, do you find that once ur on the gatecon site, you can't get off by clicking the back button? Is that unique to my ancient comptuer?! :D
Have you seen any of the behind the scenes docu's? Apparently theres about 3.

seems to be u're right -- when you're on the site it automatically loads the home.asp file -- if u push "back" it loads the home.asp file again ... don't know what sense this has (perhaps to hold you on the site :) :))

why do ya' call ur PC ancient ? what's the speed of it ??

i haven't only watched and downloaded the pictures on stargate.com so i haven't read any reports -- i'm not a reader i like the pics much more :)

No, it's just that my computer sometimes has touble logging me into this forum, and asking padders about it, he reckons my computer or browser or modem is just old. I dunno what that speed of it is, but it's quite fast.
BTW, seeing as your a Peter Williams fan, (or is it just Apophis?!) do you know, why, when searching for webpages, and you type 'Peter Williams' it comes up with P.W. I, II, III, IV, etc. I shtere like a huge clan of Peter Williams' or something?! Maybe they really *are* trying to take over the world! Or at least the entertainment part of it... ;)

i like the character Apophis but Peter Williams is a great actor so i like him too -- he plays very good - i ordered a photo of apophis (from "the nox") with the original signature of PW .. i'll upload this photo in original size onto my homepage in next time ..
you're right when searching for peter williams there are a lot of results which aren't the stargate "p. williams" -- think there are lot of other PW's so it's very difficult to find any PW webpages (i've found total 3 - and the official page isn't online yet :( ) ..

Yep, the pics up! But that's not the pic you had in one of the threads here, is it? How did you get it signed? I know this is probly blatantly obvious, but what does LAN - parties mean? Is it like a 'con or something? (I'm just full of questions today!...Aren't I?!:p)

texane (thx again :)) posted the ebay link of this pic in this forum -- i saw it and went to the site and registered ...
i liked the pic and was great that it is signed by PW and so i entered the auction -- after 2 bets i was the winner ..
the company was very friendly 'cos it was my first "internet transfer" and i had much questions -- after removin' all problems i send the money and recieved the pic and it was GREAT !!

a LAN (Local Area Network) party is where much (i visited LAN's with 30 people but there are also parties with up to 2.000 people) people come together and connect their PC's to a very big LAN (nearly alaway 100 MBIt and some with 1 GBit backbone) -- then all begin to play multiplayer games and share their files (vids [-> HOPE THERE ARE PC'S WITH STARGATE PICS ON THE NEXT LAN PARTY !! <-], music files and much other ..)

there are much tournaments and there are also prices on some LAN parties (i won about 90 US$ at a LAN party) ..

in summary i must say it is a lot , very lot of fun and it's quite better than playing via internet 'cos u can see and talk with your "virtual enemies" ..

Sorry for the somewhat garbled previous post, I was late, and I had to go out. You know, it's strange, I was gonna go and see a friend and her band play in this nightclub, on the same night as Stargate was on (I got a friend to record it for me), and I actually didn't regret going out! Do you think my Stargate obsession is weakening?!:eek:

Don't know if your interested in the link, it's just got like American Indian languages, Egyptian and Mayan, plus 'modern' languages. I found it while looking for an online Spanish dictionary!;)

In response to your goodnight, then good morning - here it's 7:35 (I'm an early riser, but I choose to catch the latest bus!), altho seeing as I went to bed @ 11 last night, I'm somehwat tireder than usual. Not that this paragraph has anything to do with Stargate, but hey.

thx for the link it's quite interesting 'cos there are lots of of american indian "sub"-languages of the most tribes and it's funny to make senteces in german (english) and translate them into native american ;)

u're a early "upgetter" ?? i'm the extreme opposite (like to get up @ about noon and after a long night (often with much alc ;) there are some days i awake @ 4 hours after midnight (is that 4:00 P.M. or A.M. ?) ..

Well, I generally don't need my sleep, and I know if i get up early, then I've got loadsa free time b4 I go 2 college, to go on the internet ;), do homework, whatever. Even on weekends, I h8 getting up l8r than 10:00. Altho it's not like I do anything on Saturday. Or Sunday. 'Till about 8:00 PM (nite) and then i figure I should start on my h/work!

I think 4 hours after midnight is 4 AM - 1 AM is like, the first hour of the day, and I count onwards. Kinda.

Hey I just had a thought (oh, well, had to happen sometime, send me a card to contratul8 me! [sorry, I always want 2 say that. Not 2 me, but @ least I've finally said it:)] {Yes, I know, I'm insane - Did you know, I was in the same asylum that Daniel was in, in Legacy?}) anyway, I seem to b drifting off the point. I was gonna say, how come your english is so good? I'm so fed up of being English, and have people around you reckon everyone should speak english! No matter how many languages I try to learn, I definately can't speak one as well as you speak English! (Well, my dutch isn't bad...)

I'm just going on an on, arent I? OK, I'll stop now. And go 2 bed, it's 22:45, it says @ the bottom of my screen. But hey, it's a Friday night! It's supposed to b l8! ;)

I was only joking about the card. I think I was a bit hyped up when I wrote that last post. It's just, whenever anyone says 'Oh, I just had a thought', it sounds as tho they're saying it was their first thought, so I'd just joke and say I'd send them a card, to mark the occasion. No, my birthdays in August, I've got ages to go. I'm always the youngest in my year. :rolleyes: When's yours?

If anything, my life will soon be over - there's only the season finale S4 left to be shown, and that'll be this wednesday. My sister's seen an advert, but I haven't! :mad:

I can't believe you're up @ 1:34! What time did you go 2 bed? Oh yes, and that reminds me of a Goa'uld related question - do you think they need sleep? I know they've got the sarc, but do they like sleep in it every night? And another thing I don't undertsand, even after watching Star Trek (you have that in Austria?), when you're in space, how do you know if it's day or night, 'cos it's always pitch black outside!
