is anyone going? i live miles away and i'm too young, and too poor :)

you had to bring that up now didn't you, im depressed enough about not going now.

I've finally made the decision that I am going... even though I can't afford it.

I had to organise a free trip, and free accomodation first... GOD!!!! Talk about a freeloader.

can you give us a review from the con, gatecon? i am so jealous, but i have my laptop now.

well.... i'm real jealous!!!!
(who is going? isnt' only fraiser, teal'c and apoph?)

Yeah, I'm going up on the Saturday. I have to get up at 5:00 AM cos my dad and I have to drive up from Canberra. It's going to totally rock. I can't wait.

One thing that really sucks though is that they are not going to be signing ANY merchandise or photos that you didn't purchse at the convention. Plus, you have to buy special tickets just so you can get their autographs.

There's also some physicist guy whos gonna talk about the Stargate and stuff.

You usually find that most conventions state that no personal items or anything not bought at the con can be signed. This is just a general con rule of thumb. Although you will find that you can usually get one personal item signed.

I know this policy might seem a simple ploy to get you to buy their products, and it is to some extent, but it is the sale of these items that help pay forthe stars to travel so far to attend our cons. Simply... no sale.... no stars. It's a nessecary evil.

I saw Prof Chris Ilbert at BOBW6, and he is suprisingly informative. He reall does know what he is talking about, and is quite entertaining.

i wish sg-1 could sign all my videos :)

does that guy talk about the stargate or wormhole physics?

He really is quite interesting. Some of his talk is about wormhole physics, but he bases a lot on the stargate itself.

Now without giving too much away, he basically explains that if a stargate could be developed, how it could actually work in real life, then gives some examples and comparisons of other sci-fi shows with technologies similar, and explains how they can't possibly work. (I'm not going to mention any shows... I'd hate to upset any trekkies...oooppps... that slipped out.)

ehhe

ok cool?
so he doesn't just blab on about un-related Stargate stuff?

do many kids go? like my age? (14?)

i thought he sucked!
it nearly put me to sleep, him dribbling on aqbout crap. i dont think he's entertaining, i have another word for it :D

ShelbyS - your going to the con?
if you are can you give us a review??

Yeah sure JAD, of course I can.
I'm gonna be taking a digital camera too, so I should be able to post some photos if I get some good ones. We'll just see what happens.

Gatecon: I was also wondering if many people around our age group (17) go to the cons?
Somehow I don't think so. I hardly know anyone my age who even watches the show, except some people on this forum.

Hey ShelbyS, im 17 too, damn i wish i was going to BOBW now, finally some on who is 17 and loves stargate, but why do you have to live in Canberrra??? i think.
If you live in canberra, have you seen the advert for BOBW XI on PRIME TV? and apparently there is going to be an announcement (nation wide) at the end of next weeks eppy, about the con.
cool you have a digital camera (drooling) next year, ill bring my laptop and you bring your camera, and well be able to upload to the net strait away!!!!!

shall have to leave the tape running an extra few minutes after the eppy then :)

a lot of my friends love stargate, but are not addicted
