4.18: Where The Wild Things Are

I'm not so sure...the only reason Tara noticed Willow was because Willow was a 'real witch', so she instantly had something in common with Willow.

Especially when, in their first episode together, they join hands and their power is dramatically increased.

The way they look at each other when they realize what power they have together is a great moment.

I'm convinced that Tara sought Willow out, using the witchcraft as an excuse. I think she wanted to meet Willow and see if there was a spark.

Remember this moment from #069 The I in Team (three episodes after they met and five episode before "Wild Things"):

"Willow is admiring and envying a Doll's Eye Crystal that has been in Tara's family for a long time. Tara suddenly tries to give it to Willow, but it's too valuable for her to accept. Tara is crestfallen, until Willow offers to do some spells together with it. Tara awkwardly invites Willow over tonight, but Willow cannot accept. Willow tries to explain that she has a special group of friends getting together and Tara quickly makes an excuse to leave."

In that scene Tara played it exactly like a smitten schoolgirl, trying to give Willow a treasured gift, trying to arrange a "date" and then quickly running away when she fears rejection.

That scene was when I knew for sure where Joss was going with Tara's character.

The fact that Willow never mentioned her new "friend" to her old friends implies that Willow didn't consider it a normal friendship either.

I'm going to disagree...I don't think Tara sought Willow, she didn't even know she exsisted before Wicca group. Two witches power is bound to increase the overall strength.

We seem to watch the episodes more closely than other fans, i'm always looking for hidden meanings.

I agree, but that same day, Tara was knocking on Willow's door.

This is how Psyche: Buffy Transcripts saw the scene:

Willow: You were there looking for me?

Tara: I thought maybe we could do a spell - make people talk again. I...I’d seen you in the group, the wicca group you were... you were different than them. I mean they didn’t seem to know...

Willow: What they were talking about.

Tara: I think if they saw a witch they would run the other way.

She smiles and laughs.

Willow: How long have you been practicing?

Tara: Always, I mean, since I um, was little... my, my mom used to, She um, she had a lot of power... like you.

Willow: Oh I’m not.. I don’t have much in the way of power.

She smiles.

Willow: Really, I mean most of my potions come out soup. Besides... spells going awry, friends in danger... I’m definitely nothing special.

Tara: No, you are.

Willow smiles at the compliment. Tara smiles hesitantly, then smiles.

I don't know, but it sounds like loooooove to me.

[Vampyre: Two witches power is bound to increase the overall strength.]

That's the wrong show, man, hee...hee. I don't know if Joss has really made that a rule, though. I admit it sounds logical, but don't you think that some witches could work more power together than others, a kind of simpatico boost. I guess we'll find out if Amy is ever de-ratted and she joins in any spells.

[Vampyre: I can't wait for the 'Watcher' series.]

You'll be happy to hear that Joss recently decided to call the show "Ripper", I know you like that name.

"[The Watcher's] a good title and describes what Tony is doing", Whedon told Cinescape Online. "Ripper is what I call it because it's Giles' old nickname and a bit sexier."

I don't actually think Tara had ever met another witch (apart from her family), that may have caused the initial attraction.

I'm glad they went with 'Ripper', I think that will attract alot of new viewers that don't watch BTVS or Angel.

Hmmm, watching this ep right now.

All I have to say is....

GILES IS SINGING! Niftyness!

And that old woman scared the heck outta me.
