I'm suffering a bit 'cause I let someone borrow all the videos that I bought, and I've had to stick with the ones that I taped. Also watched 1969 this morning, which made everything groovy

Well over the past 2 days, Ive been making copies of Stargate for a friend, so Ive just watched 14 episodes 5 hours at a time , it was good...

yeah, 3 hour tapes on long play = 6hrs.... 42m per episode, i actually fitted 8 eps per tape

If you wanna get 7 episodes on a tape, all ya need is a 5 hour tape, thats what I used, I got 14 episodes on 2x5 hour tapes, and they werent in long play...

but as the tape gets longer, the quality decreases (al;thouygh u prob can't tell) tapes where only made for 180m of strip thingy.... get me?

HERE's A CHALLENGE FOR EVERYONE:

a) How long would it take to watch every episode (COTG to Asc.), in their entirity?
b) Is it possible to watch every episode in one sitting?
c) How nuts would you be from no sleep after you did this?
d) Would you do it?

a) 91 TIMES 41m = 3731minutes

3731/60 = 62 hours worth of stargate

b) yeah i think so

c) i'd probably die

d) YES!!!! but my eyes would feel like sh*t cause the last 15 hours is on comp

I reckon I might be able to do it.....how many eppys is there? I would only be able to do it in my holidays, I never sleep then, and Stargate is all the more reason to stay up! Just give me some nescafe', Jarrah chocolate drink, some Pizza Pringles and peanut m&m's, and Ill be fiiiine!

Hmm, very interesting Martouf.
My calculations were a little different because I rounded each ep off to approx 43 minutes. I have noticed that some of them are in the mid 42-43 range. Plis, you have to watch the credits because the theme song is just so cool!

That gives us...
a) 91 eps x 43 minutes....
3913 minutes = 65.21 hours = 2 days 17 hours 21 minutes.

b) Yes I think it would be possible to watch it all in one sitting. Okay, so say you take a five minute break after every episode that would take up the count to....
4368 minutes = 72.8 hours = 3 days 48 minutes
Yikes!
Damn, that is a long time. Imagine if it was all of s5. You'd be there for a week.

c) Is it possible to stay awake that long? Even if you were watching something as thrilling as Stargate, I'm not sure it would be possible.

d) I'd attempt to do it. But I wouldn't do it alone. You guys would have to be there. We would do it together. Also, Marty, this is assuming that all eps are on tape and not on computer. So let's say we''re watching them on a big TV.

i reckon you could stay awake for 3 days but u'd feel like sh*t for about the next 3 weeks

i would've stayed awake for about 35 hours but thats a long way from 65!!!

one day we will have the oppurtunity to do this

yeah, we will. We can keep each other awake. Besides, we're all pretty young, so staying awake that long wouldn't seem imbossible. we could sleep for a week afterwards.

I already added on 5 minute breaks at the end of each ep. That's enough for toilet breaks. We can eat i front of the TV.
