YIIIPPPPPPEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Well, who knows? Maybe the films will take over, as in Star Trek?

From what I've read, and I don't know how true this is, RDA seems to want to become known more as an environmental activist than an actor. Perhaps he feels he can do more good that way. I guess he's at that age where he feels that he should contribute at something, however small, to the good of the planet.

I can sympathise, he and I are about the same age (I am 50, he is 51) and sometimes I just despair when I look around me and see the devastation humans cause to our environment and the ecology, and I myself am involved in many organisations dealing with these issues, although I don't get to do as much as I'd like to. Maybe you have to get to the half century in your life before you start seriously realising that you, as a human, can actually do something.

Not that I am saying that there aren't younger people equally as concerned, it's just that as you get older, you sometimes feel as though time is running out.

Also having a child at that age can sometimes make you think twice about things.

Maybe doing films would be better for him, less responsibility as an actor/producer and easier for him to fit in with a private schedule and family.

*shrug* either way, it's nice to know that there will be at least one more season.

Well, it seems as though I am the one to answer my own question from a few pages back. Unfortunatley no has had an answer to the question of this series six rumor bieng confirmed.

I recieved an email from Showtime yesterday stating that they were sorry, but that they do not currently have any plans for a sixth season, even though they had been recieving large volumes of email on the subject. Since Showtime is a rather official source, I think I'll take thier word for it. Maybe if we keep sending out those kleanex boxes with the "Send more", and "Save our Stargate" written on them to both MGM, and Showtime then we could still change their minds, but as it stands they haven't approved another season yet!

Wow I really thought that it was confirmed that we were going to get another season.
Well I'm really depressed now and think I might go and write some more letters:mad:

Since this is my first post here, I thought I would try to make it a good one. Maybe Showtime doesn't know that there is going to be a sixth season, since the show might be moving to the SciFi channel. I mean MGM has already has done this with one show that Showtime didn't renew, when it moved the Outer Limits to SciFi for new shows. And I guess SciFi is going to show SG-1 in syndication, and what better way to get people to know that the show is going to be on the station than to carry the last first run season. I don't know if this is the case, but it makes some sense.

Season 6

Right now the air is so filled with 'he said - she said - I thought they said' that it's becoming impossible to figure out what's really going on.

until we get a finial word from the higher-ups: MGM, Showtime, the program's actual PR person... folks like that.

I'm holding out hope too but it's fading. Starguide said there'd be an official announcement from MGM last Thursday. No far, nothing but silence. In the immortal words of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and all those guys, I got a bad feeling about this.
 
I would just like to know if we are getting a sixth season all this waiting around is sending me mad:evil:

One day its all "yeah we are" and the next its all "oh now we are not"

I just wish that someone would tell us for sure either way:(

Yeh, but despite the odds, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker always came out on top!

I write a lot late at night or very early in the morning [hey... for me, that's anytime before 0600].

I just have to make sure I re-read it during the day or the typos are stupendous. :p
