Rumor -- New Movie

Peter Wingfield

okay - this is probably a much more impressive list -- not in quantity, but in quality ---

Peter Wingfield: (since 1997)

Noah's Ark (tv series) (never saw/heard of this, but that's ok)

Cold Squad (tv series) (available only to our Canadian viewers - and possibly some in the UK)

Strange World (tv series) (have no idea on this one either)

The Man Who Used to be Me (tv movie)

Highlander: Endgame (a waste of the man's talent if you ask me - he could have done something better w/ his time)

Queen of Swords (tv series) (which PW didn't want to be a part of anymore b/c he felt he was carrying the show when he was on and not the main character)

The Wedding Dress (due out on Showtime sometime this year)

The Miracle of the Cards (due out sometime this year also)

almost forgot -- PW's guest appearances on Stargate SG-1 as Tanith/Hebron

and The Chris Isaak Show -- he played an auctioneer - he was very funny!

First Wave - guest appearance (this was good too)

Cold Feet - guest appearance (haven't seen this - don't even know what it is - but i'll wager he was wonderful in this too!)

hmmmmmm -- i'm much more impressed w/ Peter Wingfield's group of productions than i am w/ AP's - why? b/c AP only knows how to be Duncan MacLeod - he's kinda like Tom Cruise - he's the same guy in every movie/production --- w/ PW - i can clearly see the difference in his characters - the man has great talent!!

yes - but that was pre-1997 -- i only listed stuff done after 1997 for both AP and PW -----

LP#9 was like 1995 -- while he was still doing Highlander

AP...movie acting? news to me...I can't think of a single reason I would watch him in anything anyway *shrugs*

btw -- are you aware that Highlander was cancelled b/c Adrian Paul wanted to persue 'a movie career'? yep - that's why we had no further eps of Highlander (and probably why season 6 sucked so bad - AP didn't wanna do it anymore) --- (this is kinda one of the other reasons i don't like Duncan very much - his actor was an @$$)

...and just look where that lil venture got him -_-

yep - same place he was when the show ended - still Duncan MacLeod --

anyone even know him as anything else? everything else i've ever seen Adrian Paul (born Adrian Paul Hewitt, btw) -- do he was terrible in ----

yep....he is so character typed now...mostly because he seems to behave the same way in anything else I've seen him in..but then again...if they kept going the way they did with season 6...which other than a couple of episodes really sucked....it might have been better that he wanted out anyway

ENDGAME

I hate the inconsistancies in the movies. Connor was the last imortal in the original movie. Now there's lots of them still left. Come on! :(

what i don't get is that he wanted Richie out of the way - ok - they did that - so -- why did he 'drop out' of season 6?? the show would have been wonderful if AP had just put as much heart into that season as he did in getting rid of Richie and being an ass.

that show could have had the BEST series finale of any show out there if they had put some time and thought into it -- instead they do this weird version of an alternate reality thing --

what was that anyway? if Duncan had done what? i don't even remember ---

but - Connor should have been in the finale -- that would have been a GREAT tie-up ep -- bring them back together at the end - but this time, don't make Connor such a big stupid wimp --- ack!

but - hey - who am i? just a fan who supposed to like everything that DPP does -- well guess what suits! it doesn't work that way!!!!

Okay - more info on the new Highlander movie - (from a post on one of my mailing lists)

due out sometime in 2003 -- Highlander - The Source -

Chris and Adrian are both supposed to be in it - i think Jim and Peter are too -- hope their parts are bigger this time ----

I hope it's better than the last one. I hate when they make a movie just as and excuse to pull in die hard fans to make some money. I hope AP demands a better script that sticks to the original Highlander mythology.

not sure on that --

Bill Panzer seems to hold a tight reign over things - and if AP was really concerned about maintaining the "Highlander Mythology" - i think he would have spoken up sooner --

the guy writing this movie (or, so i've heard) is the same one who wrote Endgame - so - we'll just have to wait and see --

i have a sneaking suspicion that this movie won't be what 'die-hard' Highlander (the original) fans are hoping for - it'll probably be closer to Endgame - which is unfortunate, b/c the 'flavor' of the idea of Highlander was missing in Endgame - not only that, but the writers completely ignored most of the Series canon - bad move, considering all the fans are expecting everything to be, mostly, the same ---

i didn't like Endgame, and i'm not expecting this one to take my breath away -- esp since it looks like they're pulling the same weak@$$ stunts w/ Chris that they did w/ Connery in HL:II --

again - we'll just have to wait and see ------- but i'm not holding out much hope ---

ADRIAN PAUL

AP may not be the one writing the story, but he can influence it by refusing to play the part if it's bad. In fact, that should be a responcibilty to his fans that one would think he would take serious. But you're right about him not caring about the last one. He must have just wanted an opportunity to do a movie and get himself on the big screen.

i would love to see AP take on the responsibility of telling the writers that he won't do the movie if it's bad - but he may have a different idea of what is 'bad' than the fans do -- i don't know much about AP, but i saw him on a talk show once, and he came across very arrogant - kind of a let-down b/c i kinda liked him as Duncan MacLeod - but after that interview - my attitude about Duncan changed -- sometimes it's hard to separate the man from the character --

however - as far as AP and influencing the writers - i think that will depend on how much pull he has w/ Bill Panzer -- who thinks that Duncan MacLeod is the 'bee's knees' and all other characters aren't worth his time -- (which really annoys the heck out of the fans) ---

i hope he does step up and tell Panzer his honest opinion about the script -- would give him some points, IMO - kinda like i'm sure someone like Mel Gibson wouldn't hesitate to tell a director/writer that a script stinks and he doesn't want to have anything to do with it --- i hope AP does the same w/ the HL movies ---

It's probebly easier for someone like Mel who is a big movie star. Hell, Mell even directs and produces some of his movies. But AP needs to understand that bad movies will kill his career.

yes he does --

did you ever see "Dead Men Can't Dance"?? no? yeah - me neither - saw like the 1st minute and a half - and turned it off - it was terrible --

then there was "Masque of the Red Death" - this was based on Edgar Allan Poe - but still - not AP's best acting - (it was written weird too)

"Cover Girl Murders" - well - eh - a little better than the above mentioned, but still not great --

so - yes - moving away from the 'bad' movies and he might fare better on the big screen -- either that, or he's stuck as Duncan MacLeod for life -----
