5.12: Wormhole Xtreme

MythingLink,

Have had trouble this am trying to access you site! will try later as I just wanted to let you know!

Thanks to a very good friend of mine I've made and uploaded screen captures from the episode. The color isn't good on some and there are duplicates because my little screen capture thing was messing up and I didn't notice until I went to format the pages.

I'll have some sound files and a synopsis up later today. I think you'll all love the episode.

These look so cool.

Can't wait till this episdoe:rolly2: :rolly2: :rolly2: :rolly2: :D

here's what the showtime site is saying about it...they're sorta ignoring 2001 and desperate measures at the time being.. <shrug>

Objectives

At approx. 0230HRS yesterday, the Kepler Space Probe picked up an object passing by Mars
Originally thought to be an asteroid, but JPL detected an energy signature and trajectory/speed variations
Energy signature of ship matches that of an escape pod found 1 year ago in Billings, Montana
The ship's ETA is three days - SG-1 is to make contact with the alien individual known as Martin and find out what he knows about the craft's approach
Martin LLoyd is currently serving as a creative consultant for a TV series called "Wormhole X-Treme" (shown in reference image)
The show's basis appears to be the Stargate program and SG-1, an idea sold to the studio by Martin
The Air Force has determined that the show is not a security threat as it gives plausible deniability to the existence of the Stargate program
Colonel O'Neill has been appointed as the show's new Air Force technical consultant/liaison, and is to depart immediately for Vancouver, B.C.
Major Carter, Dr. Jackson and Teal'c are on standby and are to be ready to assist Colonel O'Neill should the need arise
Primary objective is to gather as much information as possible from Martin regarding the ship approaching Earth
STANDING ORDERS APPLY

jack...the air force consultant!!!!!!! LOL

wormhole extreme gives the air force plausible deniability????

ooh i SOOOOO can not wait

I tell you what, this episode has everything that any fan has ever mentioned in it. You'll find little quips and quotes from the very beginning as they make fun of some of the things that they've done and said. Anyone who ever wanted to be in front of the camera is and you'll all recognize the two guys at the end who determine when to have the infamous SG-1 'black out' denoting the end of the show. :D

It's an incredibly fun episode and might take a couple of viewings to spot all the little tag lines.

Cheers,

the cameo guide:

the guy wanting sexy aliens is hank cohen (mgm prez i think)
the guy beside him on a cell phone is ron wilkerson (red sky writer)
robert cooper is the guy who orders marty to write something
martin wood is one of the nid guys
joe mallozzi is the guy who asks for the donuts
and if you can't pick out pdl....;)

the chick with the license plates...just an actress

great lines...way too many

'does it say colonel on my uniform...it doesn't say colonel...where does it say colone...not here...(sorta paraphrased)

grell does not speak a single word

stacy (sam's char) how come i never get to kiss anyone?

they dont' have apples on other planets-marty
well they speak english -prop guy

sam's counterpart asking pdl and marty...if i'm out of phase and can pass through stuff...how come i can stand on the floor?

15 solid seconds of silence

'we'll get back to you on that one'

bigger! -pdl says it like 10 times

This was everything I could have wanted in an SG-1 episode and more. It was well worth waiting through the repeats (which only reminded me of how much I love the show).

My observations...

CJ in that much hot pink and a pineapple bandana. I mean the man is all that no matter what, but yikes! the pink jeans!:eek7:

O'Neill telling Marty that the show would not do well because it's on cable. I'd like to imagine that as a dig to Showtime except Sci-Fi is on cable, too.

The lack of a General Hammond figure in Wormhole. Did Marty ever really meet GH when they took him to the base? Please remind me, I don't remember.

Teal'c rolling his eyes in the prop room. Well worth rewinding my tape to view that expression again.

Sam smiling at her character in Wormhole. And everyone's reaction for that matter.

And these are just the ones I can recall. I'm sure when I log off I'll think of other things. All in all, I think the episode gave the series a real-life quality. I'm sure I was looking behind the scenes of SG-SG1 through WEx!. I would love to get my hands on the out takes from this one!

Oh, wow, that was a TOTAL HOOT!!!!!!!!!

Thanks skydiver for identifying the cameos!

I'm gonna have to watch it again and again, there were just too many in-jokes and nods to fandom to count.

**
All the incomprehensible techno-babble....
**
That "Stacy's" hair always looks awful (unlike Sam's...)
**
Trell's exercising his eyebrows...
**
Hammond cutting off the promo before it says what cable network the show will air on, and the line about "no one will see it, it's on cable"....
**
Marty: The third shot disintergrates.

PDL: That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard you say!
**
"It's what I *do*".... "It's what *I* do" ... It's *what* I do"....
*
Seeing Bridge studios
*
"Why would a guy with two PHDs be a driver for the teamsters?" (Sam)
"For the money" (Daniel)
***
THe book: 'Dust off that old screenplay and sell it" by Robert C Cooper
**
'Please, Mr Man-In-Black, don't pretend you don't know about the aliens".
**
"We'll win an Emmy for this ... in the visual effects category"

And that precious "behind the scenes" bit. LOL.

You know, all to often the "100th Episode" that they make a big deal about, is usally just another episode.

Major kudos to all invovled for making this special!

But why did Showtime, twice, say "stay tuned for a special encore presentation of Stargate's 100th episode?"

And where did Tanner disappear to from his apartment? Or, like I suspect, is that another joke?!!!

Great episode!

Oops, sorry, it's Grell, not Trell....:rolly2: :rolly2: :rolly2:

I love the many entrance shots of Bridge studios.

And if any doesn't know that is where stargate is actually filmed ;)

Overall a very humorous episode, it goes right up there with Window of Opportunity and Urgo for being one of the funniest SG episodes.

And what about the end of the episode with those 2 guys talking about making the visual effects of the spacecraft better.

Are those the guys that actually do the stargate special effects.

AHHHHHH - this episode sounds like so much fun

So its a real shame I will probably have to wait 12-24 months to see it! :dead: [This is almost enough to make me move to USA/Canada - got any jobs for a Reetou diplomat?]

I can't believe sam's counterpart has the same name as me, I bet she flippin stupid and ugly as well, her hairs even nearly the same lenght and colour, oh fantastic, someone's got it against me I tell ya.:D

Love this episode, it was hilarious. And have some great moments. It was fun to watch.

Krystal :alienooh:

Loved everything about this episode! I especially liked the fact that poor Grell never go to say something. When he was about to speak he was cut short. And he was "directed" to raise one eyebrow.
The writers must have read/heard fans' complaints. Like poor Sam complaining about never kissing (or hardly) kissing anyone. Or the fact that Daniel did not fall through floors when he was out of phase (yet he could walk through doors). Marty was hilarious.
Many of the stuff that happened on "the show" must happen in a real sci-fi tv show. Well done by everyone, only quibble it was too short, I wanted it to go on and on.

or the 'does it say colonel on my uniform'

marty's 'they dont have apples'
and the prop guy's 'well they speak english'
or marty's 'is that what you're wearing?' (and that has to be a coincidence cause this was long since filmed and put to bed before 2001 aired)

and i'm pretty sure the makeup lady with the green alien is chris judge's make up person.

there were so many in jokes and asides...i don't know bout you guys but i feel totallly flattered that they took some of the fans' comments over the past 5 years to heart and put them in the show...it's almost like interactive tv

That was sooo fantastic. Lots of little things in there that were so humerous. It was a total pay out of themselves.

Another cameo I saw was N. John Smith, when T and J are talking at the cartering table. Oh, and was the prop guy with the fruit Wray Douglas? I was watching it on ASF so it was a little fuzzy. Hank Cohen's part was hilarious. Robert and Martin were great too.

When Marty and Jack are walking around the backlot Marty says:
"I'm the creative consultant, nothing happens on the show creativly without me knowing about it" - that is a direct quote from Pdl who said it in an interview once.

Loved it in the end when the guy who was playing Daniel in Wormhole Extreme says:
"I'm Christian Boche, I'm portraying the character of Raymond Gunn who portarys the character of Dr. Lavante, who's based on the character of Daniel Jackson who's portrayed by the actor Michael Shanks who was originally portrayed by James Spader in the feature" :laugh2: :laugh2:

And Michael Deluise saying that stuff "This is not a real show, what do you mean this is not a real show? And I getting paid real money?"

Brilliant! :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

Loved the show. All the little bits and quips where just great. :D :D

Way to many good lines or scenes but a couple of my favorites where:
If I'm out of phase why don't I go through the floor? (Not just SG1 but other scifi shows have done this same thing with same question by fans). and the response "we'll get back to you on that"

Also loved the why don't I get to kiss anyone.

Plus numerous other quotes and scenes. Definetly a nice light, hilarious 100th episode.

So ArcAngel, how do you really feel? ;)

A very Funny Funny Show! Did you get the M.d.L. asking about the camera angles when he is kissing the tall alien... and they reassure him that the angle from another camera makes him look tall... I just rolled on the floor... shades of Trek and when the real aliens beemed up..... But best part was when Marty used a real even... the space ship coming to collect his cohorts... as a scene in the movie! THAT was funny!:rolly2:
