5.12: Wormhole Xtreme

And what about the end of the episode with those 2 guys talking about making the visual effects of the spacecraft better.

Are those the guys that actually do the stargate special effects.

Those two guys are Brad Wright and Michael Greenburg. ;)

Cheers,

So ArcAngel, how do you really feel? ;)

I'm annoyed, if they're gonna do a character that looks like an older version of myself witht the same name, can't they at least make her intelligent and pretty, like me :D

I work at SG-1 in the art dept. One thing you may not know about the cameo appearances is that most of the background extras are actually SG-1 staffers. We really had a lot of fun with this episode, I hope it shows. MGM recently threw a huge party for us in celebration of our 100th, one of the gifts they passed out was a VERY limited DVD of "WORMHOLE". Coincidentally, that episode airs tonight on Shotime.
Please keep watching. Pray for NYC.

I'll get to work on that, last night was my first chance to see Wormhole in it's entirety.
I have a DVD copy but don't yet have a DVD player. I will be getting one in a week or two, maybe then I can do freeze frames and catalog some of our people. One that you would have seen is my pal David Sinclair (our props master) he is the one with the bullhorn yelling at the dead aliens to get off the stage.

If you want to do so, you could check out the captures on our Image Gallery and put names to people. I tried to get a capture of every face I saw.

I rewatched it on Friday and loved it even more! And thank you Boydo! As I would loved to put names to so many of the faces!

And I was very happy to find out what happened to Marty! The Air Force got him a job in real estate!?!? I nearly choked.. the crative consultant one is so so very much better and funnier! (With apologies to PdL between the snickers!)

MythingLink, I'm still a newbie at this site, how do I get to your image gallery?
BTW after reading a number of posts re. Wormhole I'm really happy that the SG-1 fans accepted and appreciated that episode for what it was, a chance for us to have some real fun with the show; not that we don't enjoy what we do but after seeing all your posts its nice to know you were all in on the inside jokes.

Hi Boydo...... I think it was great for all of us who have seen this episode to watch all of you having fun. We know you all work very hard to make Stargate into the good show that it is!
I actually did take note of the guy with the bullhorn, because I thought that particular part was very funny.... this bored voice yelling for all the aliens to get off the set and then they all just got up from where they were slumped and wandered off. One thing I did notice was that someone had to come on and pick up what looked like an alien dummy which he appeared to haul off under his arm...... er.... that WAS a dummy wasn't it?

 :D

If you look at the top of this screen you'll see some tabs. One is labeled 'Images'. It will take you right to the Image Folio.

I've got to say that I, for one, am glad that TPTB took the time to do this type of an episode for their 100th. So many series take themselves so seriously and try to do something profound for their 100th and all it ends up being is another episode of just the same thing that they do all the time.

I loved that it was decided to have fun with this instead. I think, for most, it was an indication that TPTB are really in touch with the fan base and themselves.

I agree with you Mything, the fact that they could joke around with it and pay themselves out about certain things made it even more special.

It's great to know that they are so in touch with their fan base. It really is a show where they care about their audience and the fact that they made an episode like this shows that they listen to what we say and our opinions of the show.

Wormhole Extreme

Believe it or not, my VCR screwed me up and I missed the world premiere AND the encore of Wormhole extreme-if anyone cares to make me a tape, I'll pay shipping and any other charges.
Jaffa-Jim

Bad luck Jaffa-Jim..... I'm sure there must be someone out there in the US who could oblige!!

:D

i wanna see some outtakes, coz i've got tired of rewatching the ep. does n e 1 know if i can download sum outtakes!?!??!??!
:eek4:

'What colour is my laser beam?'
'It just makes sounds we can't afford it.'

When the rocks fall and fall and KEEP ON FALLING on Danny.. and he throws the guy into em....

'I thought I was in all the cool scenes?'

'You can shoot a big alien and not have to be weightless?'

'Why don't the aliens wear cammo?'
...'Isn't that why they end up dead?'

Is it just me, or was it SOOOOOOOO Joey Tribiani!!!!!!!!!!

OMG what a great eppy!!!!!! Was hoping it wouldn't be the let down I was expecting......

I couldn't help comparisons with "Galaxy Quest" which I think was funnier, but then I didn't get all the in-jokes until I read these posts!

Worth it for the lines:

Marty: Oh! No! Wormhole X-Treme! The show is based on your Stargate programme!

Jack: Don't worry! It's on cable!

And the Brad Wright and Michael Greenberg:

Seen better effects -- Don't worry we'll fix it post-production.

I was wondering whether any of the lines were things that people had actually said, it seems that many were.

Sooo many good lines, i think most of them have been mentioned. Wastn't there something said, I think when they were talking about plausible deniability, "that is if the show stays on air...." was that before series 6 was confirmed? ;)

and Sam's double.. why do I never get to kiss anyone, the rocks on Danny!, just too many funny bits to mention them all! And going back to the old episodes, the out of phase bit had my in hysterics, i think we spent a week trying to think of a plausible reason here :)

Soooo funny. I forgot it was the 100th episode so it was quite a fun surprise when I started watching it :)

i was watching my dvd of it and found another joke. CJ has a reputation for flatulence. like a really, really bad rep. there have alledgedly been farting memos circulated. so watch the catering scene when he walks out carrying the tray of food, the two guys on the stairs fan the air as he walks by as if to dispell a sudden odor.
i've seen WX like 4 times and never noticed it before
