What do YOU want to see?

Although I agree with MS's decision to leave the show, and I wish him well with his acting career - I'd still like to see him return, as the writers stated he would, at some point during S6 (don't jump on me, Garron).

It would be great to have him glide (descend?) into rescue an exhausted and beaten SG1 from certain death...or to turn up on 'PX-9392whatever' as part of a civilisation and be discovered by one of the SG1 team....or for DJ to be named by another race as an assassin, and the SG team have to go bounty hunt him before the bad guys find him...or....or... Oh, I could go on with scenarios, but you'd get mighty bored.

I'd also love to see him in the planned feature movie, just to see the team back together again - although it's always possible he may be too busy. But I can't wait to find out what the storyline will be.

www.scifiguide.net reports Danny's "return":

Zap2It.com reports that Colonel O'Neill will be captured and tortured by a Goa'uld -- and continually revived with a sarcophagus. "What they do is they torture you to death, revive you, and torture you to death again, revive you," Wright said. "That's what's happening to O'Neill. As strong as he is and as resistant as he is to torture, this is on a level a little higher than anybody could normally take. So Daniel appears to O'Neill, not to physically save him, but to keep him alive through this terrible ordeal."

Wow!!!:rolly2: Am I psychic or what!!???

Thanks for the heads up on the Scifiguide site, Lepry. :D

Well, in that "back in time" episode...when they came forward too far, Cassandra commented that she hardly recognized Daniel with hair, so presumably he does come back at some point.

Ynott - it would be nice to think that the writers worked off some grand master-plan, but it seems unlikely that they were thinking of that particular encounter when they wrote Daniel's departure.

I also thought about how the encounter with Cassandra was supposed to have happened if the future that was portrayed in 2010 came to pass. Continuity!!!!!!! I think these are the sort of things that we just have to deal with - besides, they are the little inconsistencies that I think it is fun to figure out

Oh no, you misunderstand. The comment was so vague that even if Shanks never returned to the show or to any of the movies, it could still be true....the idea is to give "continuity" to the audience so that (as in books) in you can "fill in" at some distant point in time, the "fact" that Daniel does return....you never even have to see it, but it makes you have that kinda "happily ever after" feeling... at least for me. :)

Well that's a much more pleasant way of looking at it than my cynical nit-picking :)

...which for means less politics and more missions.

I know it is MUCH cheaper to have them all stuffed round a table discussing stuff than firing up the gate, using their weapons, or, dare I say talking to Thor etc., but that is where the viewers want to be?

I'm quite the opposite. I'd like to see more politics. More missions are important, sure enough, but politics and missions go hand in hand.

A suggestion to all, I want to see Senator McKinley back in action. Where is that facist anyways?

True say. The writers are doing an amazing job. People give it up, Daniel's gone.

As much as we'd like to see him come back - I'm afraid he's gone. Similar to the way the Confederates lost the war to the Union, Daniel's gone!

I wanted to reply to Garron. I agree that we should respect the decision of the actor not to continue in that role, but I thought I read somewhere that he was unhappy about leaving, and that it was more of a 'forced into a corner' decision than a real desire to go. I think I would support the view from some people in this forum that the programme-makers have not used the character - or some of the others (the poor fella playing Teal'c has to be well pissed) - too well recently. Doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things I suppose, but Stargate is off my to-watch-at-all-costs list.

Sorry guys.
I am beginning to consider joining this category of former fans, unless season 6 makes a dramatic change for the better. :(

Unless HE is being tortured, I don't want to see him again. Maybe you should adopt him in Canada (that way he doesn't have to become our president).

I'm sick to death of Stargate epys when they don't even bother to open the gate . . .

And they can kill off "Q" any time, as far as I'm concerned. He was a bore in the other series, too.

What do you mean by that Texane?

Clearly you don' t know how many people are still holding on to their Confederate money. ;)

I agree; he's gone except for an epy or two and a movie (or 2). My only interest at this point is that the other two (AT and CJ) don't continue to be treated as the props for the "Jack O'Neill Show." :dead:

What are you talking about? Don't you love his power and energy on screen?

The Senator brings powerful and moving rhetoric that empowers many people albeit we might not necessarily aagree with it.

We must understand that politics works with the gate. The Stargate works with government. By ignoring the interworkings of the Sentate, the executive, and the house, we undermine the operatings of the system that serves to protect humanity.

The bottom line is politics is important element to Stargate. In respect to missions, I agree that they must be emphasized.

I also agree. Sometimes Stargate can become the 'Jack O'Neill Show," but understand, RDA had that in the middle 80s - MacGyver. I'm sure he appreciates the work of AT and CJ; Stargate exists for this reason alone.

Teamwork is the ultimate goal for the Stargate crew. I'm an idealist hoping that people can see eye to eye with me.

I wanna see a medieval culture with a dungeons and dragons -esque storyline. Suggestion: a Gou'ald death glider could be a "dragon". A Gou'ald could be an evil sorcercer who can "cast spells" using technology. Man that would be sweet.

I want ...

Sam get A LITTLE involved with Jonas and Jack dyeing of jealousy;

I want some sexy scenes between Jack and Sam too ( what ? Let me dream, please. I know all of you want this too... just are too shine for ask).

I also want to know what happened to : Narim, Joe, Orlin (poor Sam), Harsersis, Osiris, Anubis, Replicators, Asguards, that goa'uld on earth which I forgot the name, The Jaffas... and of course, Daniel.

BUT I REALLY DO NOT want to see (can be a SPOILER !)....

... Jack becoming a Tok'ra. I will HATE that.

Just like I will hate if this great show with such great mitology and so much interesting things to bring up to us yet, ended in season six.

I think the Jonas/Jack idea is prime for some good one-liners! :upto:

And as to Jack becoming a Tok'ra, wouldn't it be the utmost in irony if he became a Tok'ra but decided to stay on Earth with the (oh so primitive) humans! :p

Of course, for you true shippers, J&S could both become Tok'ra and be together for a long time . . . ;)
