Narrator Del Arrived early to get a better handle on the situation. He easily acquired a table for two. Then at 9:00am on the dot he saw HER. It was the girl of his dreams. She had long dark hair with deep brown eyes, with a smile that made him feel well warm inside. She came towards him … and walked right by.
Del: I must be a fool to have thought that beautiful creature could be the girl I talked to on the phone.
Narrator: He said under his breath. Then he saw a young girl with long, mousy brown hair, decidedly dark brown eyes, and a determined look on her face. She was looking right at him.
Gemni: Hi. Are you Delini?
Del: yes but please call me Del.
Gemni: Okay.
Del: Are you the girl from the Phone?
Gamni: yes.
Narrator: Gemni thought: ‘what is with this guy? He is totally dreamy! I don’t know how I’ll be able to talk to him about anything! This doesn’t seem real anymore!’
Del: shall we order breakfast?
Gemni: Sure.
