The RDALB, it's sort of a fictious group. We don't as yet have a mission and we only have three members. I imagine I'd get into trouble using the name after a certain point. I got inspired by the Dog Squad site-- only we celebrate leather! Sexy leather, cute leather-- leather, leather, leather!

okay - lots to do - lots to do -- (don't skip weekends - makes it hard to catch up!)

Cyn -- Mac (Harm's partner) was promoted to Lt. Col. around the time Harm got his eyes all fixed up and went back to active flight status -- so, yeah - that might be confusing, but, i'll tell ya, when i'm watching JAG, i'm not necessarily watching for Col MacKenzie -- :naughty: - it's ALL Harm!!

okay - can't remember who mentioned RDA as Harm's RIO - well - or Jack as Harm's RIO (tho, i haven't heard mention on SG of Jack having had much flight experience - he jumped, but don't recall him being noted as a pilot - and he doesn't wear gold wings on his uniform) but, anyway -- yeah - he'd look pretty good as Harm's RIO -- tho, i could see them as court room opponents, or as two competing pilots in a 'dog-fight' --- more action that way!

and the pics -- they're great!! keep 'em coming!!!

the Vicki Gabereau (sp?) interview is NEW! tons of ppl talkin' about it on the RDA yahoogroup and the MacList --- it's a new one!!!!! so be on the lookout - those in Canada -- for the repeats ---

Thanks for clearing that up, H2. And well, yeah. Harm is the cutie. But seemed not to be a lot of Harm on the ep. I came in when there was this scene with Mac questioning the need for some special type of hearing. I can't argue with them giving equal screen time to her. That sort of thing can be an issue with SG after all. I kept flipping back to it and did get a little scene with him at the end. I must have been nuts to not keep watching it. I used to like that show a lot.

oh, i agree - give her equal screen time -- the show is called "JAG" not "HARM" -- ya know?
and - if ya wanna watch - USA network airs it m-f at 1900, and Sun at 2200 and 0000 (which is officially monday -but you get the idea) --- they just started over w/ season 1 -- so, if ya jump in now, you can catch 'em all!

okay - back to the Jack pics --- i think i might have one that i yanked off the Showtime website -- i love this pic (if i can get it to attach) --it's been cropped and modified slightly to get it to fit (was a HUGE file) --

For piccies we'll hang through a lot Scary pictures in October... brrrr.... I'm with you on being torn culturally on this older man thing. All my life I've been battered to seek among my peers for companionship. But I've always been older than my years and not happy with my peers. So... the only other outlet I had was TV and I've grown up with that attraction to older characters on TV at least... to quote a DJ I've known (funky love music plays here) "Is it wrong?"

I think this little bit was plunked into the series to both make it a bigger puzzle by conflicting with RL and make it harder to try to justify his AF rank and duties before the SGC. I'm pretty sure our list's "military advisors" can't easily justify Jack having so much diverse experiences. I think Rowan or Anni has done extensive posts on this issue. Adding the idea that he's a GIB? I just chuckle and just think that Jack's character was the only one left in the hat when they gave Teal'c pilot's seat and Sam the problem solver role. And the writers got to poke the shipper button. I'm still struggling with the dumbed down aspect of Jack for the episode. Okay, yeah, he's GIB and an amateur astonomer but he don't understand radio lag? That still yanks my chain.

yeah - the radio lag thing got me too --- sure - Jack sat 'RIO seat' -- but somehow i don't think he was actually a pilot -- maybe he learned some flight stuff - 'just in case' - ie: enough to keep the plane in the air to get it out of a 'no fly zone' or something -- but i doubt he could land the thing --

the only thing i can figure about him not understanding the radio lag, is b/c he was 'delusional' from lack of O2 - but, i'd have to watch the ep again to be sure *when* he wasn't comprehending

Someone's pointed out he don't have wings so yeah, he might just be able to handle level flight. Is there a stick back there? This brings up the question I always had about why Jack had parachuted into Iraq back in 80-something. If he was a RIO GIB at the time, his ride might have gotten holed along with his pilot.

The radio thing in Tangent was from the get-go.

or something like that. And I know Jack's eyes glaze over when Sam goes on about wormholes and stuff. But Tangent took dumb-Jack a bit far. Or, maybe he just never understood anyother aspect of space travel because the Stargate just sidesteps the whole science of local space travel rules. Maybe your average 40-something AF guy-in-back wouldn't get the idea that a little tour past Jupiter means that radio's not the fastest way to phone home.

re the color blind thing-i saw that on the first vicki gabereu (sp?) interview. RDA said he didn't get drafted coz he's color blind.

Teal'c is the penultimate straight man. I just am not in on that scene like that.

... and on "avoiding" the draft. (And I know colorblindness is an unavoidable genetic thing so he's a legit removal on that...) I was a bit surprised that my mother told us a story last night that my dad "avoided" what ever one was on in, around, or after 1957-58 by having untreated double hernias. Man! What a world. And what a way to suffer with that. Personally, I think it would have done his personality a load of good to have been through basic training in the service fixing tank engines and stuff.
