Picardo, Wheaton and Burton on 'Weakest Link'

I couldn't find what you're referring to! Where is it?

sorry, I gave the wrong address.

Smirking yet? Now check out www.wilwheaton.net, a site created, designed and hosted by Wheaton himself - and wait for that smirk to morph into a genuine smile. "A lot of people have said that they originally came (to the site) because they wanted to sneer at me," Wheaton says. "I get E-mails like that all the time - people saying 'I was really looking forward to making fun of you, in a Gary Coleman sort of way. But I was totally wrong and now I'm completely hooked.' "

This sums up the strange, yet undeniable appeal of Wheaton's site. It's not much to look at (instead of showy flash animation, Wheaton's round, still-boyish face peers from the upper left corner of every static page), but once you start reading, you're hooked. The site is a Weblog, or, to use Net slang, his Blog. It's made up of daily journal-type entries and links to Wheaton's favourite sites.

Let's keep this thread on the weakest link show though, and use the other thread (which I've mislaid) :D for his site.

Robert Picardo told British fans at a Glasgow convention how disappointed he was to have lost last year's charity edition of The Weakest Link to LeVar Burton. He also revealed an edited out segment, when hostess Anne Robinson asked Denise Crosby "So, you're a model then?" When Crosby answered that she was, Robinson responded: "And sometimes you manage to keep your clothes on?" This was a reference to Crosby's appearance as a centrefold in Playboy. Crosby was so thrown by the question that it was edited out.

I bet Denise Crosby was cursing under her breath then if Anne Robinson was being so catty. Surely its up to Denise if she wants to take her clothes off.

Saying that tho I'd love to Weakest Link with the ST guys. Wish they'd show it here.

Picardo again!!!

Picardo won't keep quiet about losing, it must have affected him deeply.

"It was a heartbreaker, wasn't it?" Picardo asked 'Star Trek Monthly' about his performance on 'The Weakest Link'.

"LeVar is a game show veteran... a 'jeopardy' junkie. He got cooler and cooler under pressure. And you could see the sweat dripping from me. I got excited and blew a valve. At least I made Anne Robinson laugh. I gave her a big Bronx cheer, but they cut it out..."

They seem to have cut quite a bit out!

"...I guess it made me look like a sore loser... You know, we're joking about 'The Weakest Link', but doing that show made me feel like a solid part of the 'Star Trek' legacy. There were actors from four of the 'Star Trek' series... there wasn't anyone from Enterprise."

As for a petition, who wants to write it? & who do we address it to?

There is a petition site on the internet somewhere, I've seen petitions about 'bringing back Battlestar Galactica' and 'bringing back Daniel Jackson'. Then there is the big movement to 'bring back Kirk'. All we want is for them to show one little quiz show.

Tis a good idea Dave. I'll try looking for the petition list when I get the chance or if you find it before me. I would love to see it.

Does anyone know who else was on? Who was there from TOS?

These are the petition sites:

http://www.petitiononline.com/

I could easily write a petition, but who should it be addressed to? Who is likely to show it? The BBC? They show 'The Weakest Link' and also currently show the earlier 'Star Trek' series.

lol

shame on u guys! taking the mik out of him even if it just for a lugh! lol:rolly2:

I had a reply to an email from Sky to say that they are not going to show it. Still waiting to hear from the BBC if they decide to answer me back.

What did they say exactly? Was it "We currently have no plans to show it"? That's what I got when I asked about the 10th Kingdom. The BBC are more likely, since they show both shows presently.

I can take the joke Chilly, as Highlander II said somewhere else, it shows how unusual it is for me to be wrong, so it's flattering really. :coolyello

You've got a point there Dave! And you didn't miss much if you were never able to see The 10th Kingdom. I saw most of it and didn't think it was that great.

But I did like the 10th Kingdom, my family loved it, I was asking about a second series. :(

Anyway, we don't want to stray off-topic. If Annette doesn't get a satisfactory reply, we have two options:

(i) start the petition, which I don't think will actually do much good.

(ii) try and get a transcript of the show, and post it for everyone to read.

Dave - have forwarded email to you from Sky.

Also sent an email to the BBC (weakest link website) asking about ST special. Still awaiting a reply.

This is the reply I had to an email asking about 'The Weakest Link'.

There are no updated plans to show the 'Star Trek' episode of 'The Weakest Link.' Our future schedules are only confirmed up to ten days in advance, which means it is not possible to give details for programmes beyond this period. I am sure you can appreciate that plans can change and we would not wish to give you information that could prove incorrect. If you have access to the Internet, the BBC 'What's On' website carries listings up to ten days in advance. The address is:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/whatson/

I also recommend keeping up to date at the BBC site:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weakestlink/

Please note that I have registered your interest and your e-mail will be made available to our scheduling department.
