Have you stopped reading Wheel of Time?

Even if I don't like a book, I have to find out how it ends...
same here
but i would not stop on this series anyway i anjoyed it all and have no qualms about the length/ bordom contained in it, it is all briliant and i never found it boring/dragging

\/***Spoiler***\/
the discription of the cleansing of a source chould have been more clear

unless i just skim read all the actual expelenataiion

I dunno. I think I stopped at the 5th or 6th book. It seemed like every book was set up for him to fight the ultimate evil, only to find out that this was just a "placeholder" evil dude, and that the REAL evil guy was in the NEXT book! After a while I figured they were going to go that way forever and stopped.

I read the series many times I got to certain point where I wanted to find out how it ends no matter the wait until the last books.

I've read all I could get my hands on. I think he's seriously taking the piss at my expense, and I feel the 10th book was bull - Nothing happened, nothing whatsoever. But I'll still see it to the end, I've spent too much money on it to stop now.

I really enjoyed it up until book 6. Book 6 was the series' highest point, at least for me - and then it all went to pot. By book 10 i vowed never to buy one of the books again, and so picked up 11 in the library instead. I just wish i hadn't spent so much money on books from 7-10 and had rented those as well.. i was forced to skip so much due to boredom, lol.

I stopped at 7. Got bored and just got my friend to tell me what happened in the next few books. I really enjoyed the first few books but got tired of it. I must admit I am not a fan of long series though. I tend to lose interest and find something else to read. So I tend to stick to trilogies and one offs.

Perhaps Erikson's Malazan series OR Martin's Song Of Ice and Fire cold be an exception mate?...

Welcome fellow Aussie BTW.

why throw goodf money after bad? if you think you've spent a lot on it, why spend more, if you don't think it's worth it? im tempted to ebay mine. i hate parting with books unless they REALLY offend me (goodkind) or are so dull i can't read it (the mage winds!) and i did love the first 4 of this series, but i have no plans to buy the rest, or reread the first ten, so i should just sell them. :)

well I about 300 pages into book 11 and its good so far really enjoying it so i back reading it but its been a long break then again I have read all 10 twice

I have stopped reading the series. It's a funny thing. Each book was less appealing than the previous book. First book was awesome, second was great, third was good, fourth was ok, fifth was mediocre and in the middle of the sixth I just finally gave up.

I got the feeling that it was just a ploy to keep having nothing of real substance happen forever. The Wheel of TIme turns in on itself.

Yes, I have stopped reading it after being really into it for the first 5-6 books or so. I lost patience with no end in sight. It's like a band whose songs all sound like the same song.

I'm still slogging away at it - or I will when the next one that's not a prequel comes out. I've spent way too many hours of my life on it to stop now, even though I, too, am totally fed up with how it keeps going.
A couple years ago, I overheard a gentleman talking to one of my co-workers about Jordan, and how it was a great series etcetc. I also heard him saying that 10 was going to be the last book. I had to jump in at that point and correct him.
Recently, I've heard that the next WoT book will be the last, and I can't help but laugh. I fear that Jordan will die before he finishes the series.

Well... first off, I believe 11 is a throwback to the first couple... it was really good, better than 6-10....

and I heard that he was doing pretty well right now...

I am glad to hear that Roheryn...I am looking forward to reading the final copies of WOT... :)

And hopefully he stays healthy, and not just because I want him to finish the series. It is sad to see anyone going through health difficulties. My mom just had her hip replaced, it's difficult to see loved ones in situations where you can't help them, all you can do is be there for them. In any case, I wish Jordan well.

And yes, 11 was very good. I read it very quickly without a lot of annoyance over tangents and slow action. Again, I'll probably go through the whole series again once it is finished, just to get the story in one swoop.
