I voted for Gandalf because, in my opinion, Ian McKellen acted, sounded and looked perfect.

Wot the Star said :p :D

On the side: Haldir!! mmm hello pretty boy!! ahem...yeah....or you could just include all elves that would be fine :D

Aragorn was the most inspiring for me, but upon sober reflection I would have to cast my vote for Sean Astin's Sam for really imparting humanity to the movies. Also his role seemed to be the most demanding, as Samwise goes through the whole spectrum of emotions to an extent that no one else does. Love, comedy, joy, anger, sorrow, bemusement, heroism...

Frodo for me, because at the end of the day, that tiny guy saved the entire world from evil, and resisted the ring more than anyone else was able to. A toast to the main Hobbit!!!

I think they did Gollum perfectly, even though he is so terrble you can't help but feel pity for him and around the middle i was even liking him. It is amazing what they did to create him too(watched the special features). He looked great and sounded perfect.

I think Gollum was critical to the story, my namesake like me rocks!...:p :p

However I went for Gimli becasue he had the funniest lines I thought.

I liked Gollum best. Especially in the scene in the second film where he has his 'monologe'.

From the characters up there i would choose Boromir. The actor did a great job on one side being under the influence of the ring but on the oter fighting it.

I really couldn't make my mind between Gandalf and Sam. I think they are quite different, but they both gived themselves away and made sacrifices for other members of fellowship. They are charackters, who keep this emotional line in the story, they are true friends...

but I still voted for Gandalf, maybe I have fallen under some sort of spell? :) Definitely sharming one...

In the books i always loved legolas and gimli, i really like how their friendship developed from disliking and untrusting, to being great friends, however i think in the movies the character of legolas was somehow inferier to his character in the books (but that may have been down to my interpretation of him in the books). i would have 2 say that of the fellowship in the films i thought boromir was the best. Sean Bean played boromir perfectly in my opinion, showing very clearly how he was a good man, and how the ring drove him to madness. I especially like the end of the fellowship when he was talking to frodo in the woods, just before he tried to take the ring... superb acting. :)

I voted Gandalf, but I also though Aragorn was awesome!

I like Boromir - Oh BoroBean!
And Pippin and Merry. They were funny.
I liked the My Precious too! So pretty... oh pretty, yessss, she's mine... all mine... my precious... delicious!! ::Notices everyone staring:: No, I'm not crazy... I'm not talking about the ring... I'm talking about Rochers. ;)

Gandalf was done perfectly. I didn't actually dislike any of them, and was quite impressed with most of the acting (especially considering some of the props weren't actually there), but Ian McKellen was flawless, and did an amazing job of portraying the character.

I thought Gandalf was the truest to my idea of Gandalf. In other word he was the way I imagined him whilst reading the book.

Honourable Mention to Bernard Hill for Theoden. I thought he made the character sad, noble, desperate and ultimatly brave. A lot stronger than the Theoden of the book, and a character I would have liked to have seen more of.

..and of course Gollum.

You don't think that the "comic relief" aspect was a smidgeon overdone? All that nonsense with the fireworks at the beginning?

Yeah I guess the fireworks at the start was overdone but it was still good.

Gandalf was really the best character of the film. He carried with him a sense of togetherness. Without gandalf there wasn't really a felllowship. The minute gandalf fell into shadows the fellowship was ripped apart. He deserves utmost respect.:)

I liked Gollum alot for the fact that Andy Serkis played him so well.
