Making Stargate a Reality

More about poking a stick through the wormhole:

The stick actually becomes a miniBH, one that is tinier than any known particle. So it'd immediately explode into Hawking radiation. It does penetrate the wormhole, and make a hole in the wormhole! I expect it to form a minivortex on the other face, such as that we see whenever a wormhole is formed, but as small as the miniBH. So I wouldn't worry about ploughing a stick through it. With more energy, which you're doubtful to find, you can make larger BHs with the stick until they reach microscopic or visible size, and also plough larger vortices on the other side until they begin vaporising stuff. (Vaporising isn't the right term, but dematerialising is.) Then it's a problem.

I should include this in my list of revisions. Svarog, you're much more helpful than PTeppic.
