Tom and Jerry top favourite cartoon poll
Tom and Jerry have been voted the favourite cartoon characters of adults in the UK.
The long-running cat-and-mouse caper came tops in a poll to discover which animated shows grown-ups most enjoyed as children.
Scooby-Doo came second in the poll for the TV cartoon channel Boomerang, followed by Dangermouse, the only UK production to be named.
Dangermouse, featuring the eyepatch-wearing secret agent and his hamster sidekick Penfold, started out as a loose parody of James Bond and was the first British cartoon to break into the US TV market. Production stopped in 1992.
Top Cat, leader of a gang of Manhattan alley cats, came fourth, followed by The Flintstones in fifth place.
Bugs Bunny came sixth and Popeye seventh, says The Guardian.
