Your top 5 kids cartoons.

To show my age, and in no particular order:

Top Cat
Johnny Quest (original series)
The Flintstones (not made for children, but seemed to be shown as such here in the UK)
Tom and Jerry
Bugs Bunny

Honourable mentions for: Yogi Bear; Daffy Duck; Roadrunner.

Shows like Torchy the Battery Boy, Pingwings(?), Supercar, Firebell XL5, Stingray and Thunderbirds were animated, but weren't cartoons; I have to mention them: they helped make me the person I am today. :)eek: - I'll be talking to my lawyers about suing the current copyright owners!)

Thundercts
Ulyses 31
Dogtanian and the three muskerhounds
Dungeons and Dragons
Mysterious cities of Gold

Though just about any cartoon out there especially from the 80's will have been watched not as fussed by newer stuff though.

I'll have to update my list - I'd forgotten about Mysterious Cities of Gold and Ulysses 31. I'm about the same with just about anything from the 80s.:)

This is only my fav kids cartoons. I dont put my fav animes, adult cartoons like Simpsons in the list cause thats a total different list.

1. Tom and Jerry - the most classic cartoon and the most fun in any genre and in any list. I have watched them over10000 times. Never ever gets old. My fav eps are the few eps poor Tom actually won and got Jerry :) First cartoon i will show my first born!

2. Bugs Bunny & Looney Toons - funniest rabbit in the world i loved his voice. Roadrunner and the coyote is also a classic.

3. The Flintstones

4. Batman animated

5. Spiderman

What can i say i adore the classics and grew up on them. All these modern Turtles,Batmans,Scooby Doo's cant touch them!

Batle of the Planets
Astroboy
Transformers
He-Man
Voltron

Followed by Robotech, Mysterious cities of gold, Ulysses 31, Speedracer, Starblazers, Mask, Centurions, Dungeons and Dragons, Inspector Gadget, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles............

and for the non-cartoon nomination MONKEY (although as a kid Im sure it was called Monkey Magic) :)

I used to watch Uliseyes 31 (sorry bout the spelling) loved it and it was in my view quite odd as it actually finished, as oposed to say Dungons and Dragons (oh god what is with my brain today!) and HE-MAN.

I also used to watch something called the Sentinels dont think it lasted long but I remmber it.

1. Was Uliseys (yes I know!)
2. Dungons and Dragons (urgh my spelling)
3. HE MAN and the Masters of the Universe (Skeletor was my Hero alwyas wanted him to win, Yes I'm weird!) Battle of the Planets gets an hounarable mention though I never knew what was going on!

I notice people have mentioned Dogtanian -- I must've really liked that cartoon because I stole Dogtanian as my imaginary friend! I wasn't so completely without an imagination that I had to steal friends from the tv, I had a hell of a lot of other imaginary friends (and animals and worlds  ) but I think I must've liked him so much that I coaxed him live in my head :D

Count Duckula! There's another cartoon I used to watch. Just remembered it!

Only FIVE???

Man, I can't even....think of just five...

Johnny Quest
Thundercats
HeMan
SheRa
Flintstones
Spongebob
Evangelion
Buzz Lightyear
Looney Toons
Looney Toons Babies
Animaniacs and Pinky and The Brain
Conan The Adventurer
Jem
Rainbow Brite
GI Joe
Dungeons and Dragons
Ed, Edd and Eddy
Kids Next Door

OK, I basically just love cartoons, and am very non-discriminating.

Noooooooo not She-Ra she used to fill the season lull for HE-MAN an she was boggin Ooooo I hated the fact she had this soppy guy wi a mustache and a love heart on his chest she had to save once or twice and episode! ARRRRR!

Dangermouse though now there was a hero, pun master extrodinare!

Ah, Thundercats. I recently bought the first half of season 1 DVD boxset. Like Labyrinth, even better than I remembered.

So, Thundercats are number 1..

Can I have a film? If so, the animated Robin Hood is next.

Then Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Captain Starr (the episode with the hypnotic green carpet is just... surreal) and Jakers! the adventures of Piggley Winks.

Yes, I know the last one is CGI, and it's out now... and I'm 23, but I still like it.

Lets see the five that come to mind are:

Spiderman
Batman
Thundercats
He- Man
Bugs Bunny

Speaking of shows holding up to reviewing, Foxtel's (pay-tv) Boomerang channel has just started showing the 80's Astroboy Anime which is one of my all time favourite cartoons. It's probably 20+ years since I've seen it and I'm amazed at how well it holds up, the animation is great as is the general vision of the future. In the end it is a kids cartoon but the storylines for the episodes I've seen have been really good, its on at a bad time for me so I miss it more often then not but I'm definitely hoping to see a few more of these.

1 Battle of the Planets (my all time favorite)
2 Dogtanian
3 Mysterious Cities of gold
4 Around the world in 80 days
5 Jamie and the Magic torch

I loved Knightmare also(so wished to be on that when I was younger)
