A poll for harry potter the order of the phoneix

See - where's the fun in that? If Harry's gotta face the same villain in each book - there's no surprise, nothing to look forward to.

Now, if in the next book, Voldemorte doesn't show up, then he shows up in book 7 - okay, different deal - but if V's gonna just pounce out of the shadows in each book covering Harry's journey through Hogwarts --- just one Urgo-ish thing to say to that - booooooooooooooooring.

I don't like things to be overly predictable. Good story or not, if I know how it's gonna end before I even start reading - it's almost not worth it. I'm picky, so sue me.

I like the books, don't get me wrong, but the same baddie each time? Not as exciting. Maybe it's just me.

Voldemort wasn't particularly in the third book. in fact he was barely mentioned. the dementors were the bad guys...
I think it might be one of the reasons it's my fave in the series.;)

did we ever find out what thoose brain things where that attack ron?:rolly2:

Uh Asmiley, this is a fifth book thread not fourth.

I agree with H2, if Harry's nemesis in each book is just Voldemort or Voldermort related its going to be really boring. For 2 or 3 books it would be fine but not for 7. But I guess shes blown her chance for a non Voldemort book early in the series.

i disagree i think its perfectly possible that there are other bad guys out there that could be used, i mean we know so little of the magical world that harry lives in, so im guessing there are several other things that could evntually come after him:rolly2:

I agree that there are other baddies out there that would want to face Harry, but with only two books left (I think) Rowling can't focus on them when she has to wrap up the Voldemort story now that he's finally out in the open and the main point of the series.

Oops My bad. Sorry tim I read the title of the thread wrong.  *give time an extra HarryPotter shaped choccie bar*

Well the deatheaters make as interesting bad guys... I mean Lucious I could just kill becuase he's so rotten and well... you all read five.

been a while since I poked my nose into this section --

Personally - I don't think it's too late to add a new baddie *and* wrap up the Voldemort story --

1st - what the heck is left to do w/ Voldemort? Kill him? Yeah - haven't we tried that already? He just comes back - like Murdoch on MacGyver --

2nd - Volde can skip a book and come back in the 7th one -

3rd - who's to say that 7 is the last? Harry's not gonna stop being a wizard just b/c he grad's from Hogwarts - there's the whole rest of his life to work with - what's he gonna do? Is he gonna stay at Hogwarts as a member of the staff? Work for the ministry of magic? Open up some kind of magic shop? Will he get married? Have a family? Travel around the world? Play pro-Quidditch? There's so much he can do once he's done at Hogwarts - not to mention there are tons of other kids heading off to Hogwarts every year - wouldn't it be kinda fun to see Hogwarts through adult Harry's eyes? He could always take a couple years off, then return as a professor of some kind - or something - guest speaker, whatever - and could describe Hogwarts from that viewpoint -- like "Oh, would you look at all these kids? Were we ever that bad, Ron?" ---

Keep it within the spirit of the first 7 books, but continue with the rest of Harry's life -- he could live to be quite old, you know. :D
