Favourite SF or Fantasy City?

I came here to say Rivendell, but I see a few of you already beat me to it. I must say though, I'm always impressed when an author brings a city to life to the point where it's memorable. I remember characters far more easily.

Rivendell isn't a city though - its a great house in a valley of the same name. It's sounds like a pleasant and impressive house, but still.
