I've given up on the Diana Pharoah Francis Path books. Maybe I'll go back to them later. I'm intending to start on a reread of Sorcery and Cecelia Or The Enchanted Chocolate Pot.

Read Iain M. Banks' The State of the Art. My first Banks book, I liked it a lot. Especially the slightly insane starship Arbitrary, and the references to other Culture ships. But it was good on the serious side too; reflections and observations of life on Earth.

Finished Bead's Pickle (when I get a moment I'll attempt a review - but for now, know that I definitely enjoyed it) and am now halfway through Laura J. Underwood's Dragon's Tongue. Another good story.

Finished Alexander Gromovs - Islandic Map - pretty interesting concept and nice characters. Seems to be a work in progress, at least the ending suggests a continuation of the story. Wouldn't recomend it to english public - England is portrayed as a big bully in this book.

Anyway - this book started me thinking, it would be interesting to know what kind of a story would be written from the same idea by authors from different nationalities. Interesting - has there ever been such attempt or competition?

Now started to read another book by another russian author - a straight forward action SF without any attempts to moralize or ssomething like that. At least in the first 50 pages nothing of that kind.

I'm reading Daughter of the Blood, by Anne Bishop. I am SOOOO lost as to what is going on.

Taking a break from Irving's Sketch Book for the moment, as it's into Christmas sketches, and reading Roger Zelazny's A Night in the Lonesome October as an appropriate finish for All Hallow's Eve....

Wheel of Time: New Spring

Just started reading the series, heard a lot about it so I might aswell read it ;)

It's alright so far, nothing spectacular but it keeps me at it.
