Ah well. My (likely fruitless) search for a decent miltary sf novel continues. The Lost Fleet: Dauntless by Jack Campbell certainly wasn't it. Quite poor, in fact. Now reading The Aerodrome by Rex Warner, as recommended in Anthony Burgess's Ninety-Nine Novels...
