Heroes Season I, Part 2

Okay, here's a theory. What is happening is that those who are the "good guys" are losing their powers or the ability to control them (Claire being the exception, we think) while the dark side (intended star wars pun) is gaining ascendence and power. So.... the Heroes will not be able to stop the explosion and their power will be ever more needed in the chaotic world after the bomb.

Ugh! I hope not.

Is Nathan on the "good side" if he's being targeted by Jessica?

there's something to be said for "pretty but dumb" (in fantasy), but the guy's supposed to be a Ph.D. isn't he? Oh, those academics in their ivory towers . . . if you just look in the freakin' kitchen!

I'm confused about why Linderman would want Jessica to kill Nathan. I thought Linderman has compromising photos of Nathan (in bed with Jessica), so that when Nathan is elected, Linderman can blackmail him into doing whatever Linderman wants. What's changed?

Last night, as I was shaking my head about naive Mohinder, I started thinking about how Sylar can assimilate all these powers without overloading, whereas Peter can't. In a way, that makes Sylar more evolved than Peter, and if all this is happening in the name of evolution, then does that make Sylar more evolved and, ethics aside, somehow better? After all, if Sylar gobbles up enough powers, he's going to be nigh unto a god.

Maybe, if Sylar gets sufficiently evolved, he'll be so full of superhuman mojo that he'll float off into space like one of the evolved kids in Clarke's Childhood's End, moving beyond all earthly concerns. Except, of course, that he's a killer and crazy. Which is bad. And probably means he'd just stick around and take perverse joy in turning the earth into a greasespot in space.

As with so much of this show it is impossible to tell. My hunch is yes. He did come to see Claire against his manipulative mother's wishes. But that goes against my present theory of the ascendence of the "dark side."

I don't know why Linderman wants Nathan dead. Perhaps he's behind everything and isn't happy with Nathan finding Claire??? Of course, if Linderman was the one behind it all, he could just have the Haitian do a little memory adjusting, so that doesn't really 'fly' either.

Mohinder will catch on to Sylar the first time they go visit someone, right?

Mohinder is pretty and dense at the same time, but looking at the scene as if Sylar was the guy he was portraying - Sylar does a good job of not giving him any hints that he isn't who he says he is.

Perhaps the original Linderman interaction with Nathan was to set him up and eventually bring him back down.

What I don't like is that all of the hardship is tending to change their characters (Claire lying and running to her bio mom and, Cop (I can't ever remember his name!) guy stealing the diamonds, Nathan going against his mother's wishes*...

*What if Nathan's mother, being in a family with lots of supernatural talent has one herself? What could it be?
**What if Nathan's mother works for Linderman?
***What if she is Linderman?

Yeah, the good and evil "sides" are blending together. I was disappointed in cop guy taking the diamonds, too.

I think "cop-guy" is playing an "everyman." One of the basic human instincts is that when we think that nothing we are doing is turning out the way it should anyway, is to live down to the expectations. He may still change his mind, but at this point it is the perfect crime.

not really--his fingerprints were on the briefcase, so if Linderman finds that, he'll be a target of Linderman directly now. Bad.

Ahh! Linderman. He might be. I had thought about the police. With the diamond exchange clearly under the radar the police and probably Linderman will be looking for money, not diamonds.

I missed something about Invisible Claude. What gave Peter the idea that Claude would be able to help him control his power? Claude never seems to turn visible.

I've been wondering the same thing, Delvo.

And Dwndrgn, I love your suspicions about Nathan's mother!

Please tell me Peter is not loosing his charming, sweet personality. I am already not enjoying Isaac being such a gullable wuss, now to think that Peter may be turninig into less than a nice guy really irritates me. It really seems as though radio active Ted is going to give Peter his power and Peter will not just lose control, but will become angry - that is how Ted's power works, right? Peter needs to get into an anger management course.

I'm wondering if internet girl lied about wanting to kill CGM. Wouldn't telepath cop hear her thoughts and not go along with this? Ok, so he kept some diamonds - doesn't make him a murderer.

I was glad to see Ando go, as he really has been more of a hinderance thananything else. (although, he may decide to actually be a hero and quit playing annoying sidekick, by following Hiro back to Vegas and appearing at an important juncture ahead).

I want to know what happened to the bullets that were going to hit Hiro and Ando. What made them stop? Has Ando developed a power? Was there someone on the sidelines we couldn't see?
