What comic books/graphic novels are you reading at the moment?

None at the moment but looking at adding the Moore's classic Swamp Thing to my collection. I'm also going to get Miller's Sin City.

Both excellent choices Gollum, Swamp Thng sees Moore really come nto his own, while Sin City shows a master story teller at the top of hs game.

Thanks, had another look at them today, will probably purchase over the next couple of weeks.

Dont forget A Hard Goodbye the first Sin City story. Despite you have seen the movie, that story is a masterpiece and Frank Miller at his best.

Best black and white art i have seen by a westerner. Great combo of art, story. That story made a comics reader and a huge fan of Frank Miller when he was the best writer/artist.

Superman/Batman #55. COOL! Batman now has Superman's powers and they're driving him to the rim of lunacy, almost killing Nightwing. Recommended.

I'm giving the monthly Hellblazer a try again after leaving it for a few years. the arrival of the new writer, Peter Milligan, has left me excited enough; he's a terrific writer and issue #251 didn't disappoint but it's not the tense experience I expected from this legendary horror comic.

Read Diggle's Joyride arc/collection. Andy Diggle got Constantine unlike Mina,Mike Carey,Azzarello etc

His run was short but it was good.

Paradise Kiss - the most adorably but not sacchariney romantic story ever
slowly slogging my way through Sandman
hoping the Foglio's come out with another bound volume of Girl Genius soon, because reading it online is a pain
and i pick up issues of The Escapist whenever I see them.

Yeah, I've read good stuff about his run. What's the story about, anyway?

I've just finished the second trade of The Death of Captain America, the second X-Factor trade by Peter David, and the third Iron Fist trade, the book of Iron Fist. All really good stuff. Currently reading the 7th Hellboy trade.

I'm going into New world Orders issue 1-3 then onto the new Resident Evil.

Still going through Y - The Last Man. Also started Swamp Thing, from issue 11 onwards.

Superman/Batman 56 - conclusion to the "Super-Bat" storline.

Dark Tower: Treachery 6 of 6. Good conclusion to another fascinating King comic adaptation.

Action Comics 875 - beginning of "World Without Superman" arc, introducing Nightwing and Flamebird. Have vague recollection they may be characters who appeared back in the Silver Age. Don't quote me. Anyway starts off nicely. Apparently Supes will be gone for a while in some "New Krypton" storyline taking place elsewhere. Not going to follow it. I'll catch him when he gets back and just enjoy what's going on in the titles I collect. Greg Rucka and Eddy Barrows creative team.

Batman Confidential 27 - Riddler helping Bats solve "The Riddle of the Sphinx", part two. Very good story by Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir with eyepopping art by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez.

Slaine: Books of Invasions by Pat Mills and Clint Langley. It's good, but not up there with The Horned God: the art, while superb, lacks the mysterious quality of Simon Bisley's pictures, and the story is much simpler, since it doesn't have the framing device of Ukko's chronicle. Definately superior stuff, but it seems not to be quite as witty, both in terms of being funny and clever. And no villain could ever match up to Lord Weird Slough Feg, surely.

Showcase Presents Sgt. Rock Volume one. Not really a comic book it is a book of comics, specifically reprints of Sgt. Rock stories from late 50s and early 60s issues of Our Army At War, with one from G.I. Combat featuring a prototype of what eventually evolved into the one true Sgt. Rock. Great stuff.

Top Ten book 1 By Alan Moore,Gene Ha,Zeke Gannon
Terminal City 1-3 by Dean Motter,Michael Lark (one of my fav artist, the reason i picked up the series).

FullMetal Alchemist Vol 12-13 by Hiromu Arakawa

Captain Britain Vol.3 The Lion and the Spider

The early stuff in this book is a bit hokey, but I I always enjoyed Cap's first US appearance from a Marvel Team Up, written by Chris Claremont and drawn by John Byrne, just before they made their mark on the X-Men.

But it's the second part of the novel which makes it worth the while, reprinting the classic Black Knight strip!
