What comic books/graphic novels are you reading at the moment?

Do any of you read monthly comics ? Im not talking about graphic novels but just read comics that come out every month. Do you have a pull list in your comic store ?

How many comics do you buy ?

Of course I do!

I refuse to answer the second part of the question on the grounds I may incriminate myself.

Actually it might be too many to count...

I was wondering about other people pull list. I was in my comic shop today cutting down my monthly comics to 11 series cause temporary personal economy reasons. I had dump several new series i wasnt sure about.

Was wondering other people here had similar choices made. I think you and me are the only real collectors here of monthly series.

I never really had time to make my series list grow to many comics since i alwyas buy a few new books a month. Books are above comics, manga for me.

Just finished The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vol 1 & 2 The film was such a poor copy of the original idea, of course a lot of the ideas would never make it into a mainstream film, such as Griffin and Pollyanna, and Hyde punishing Griffin.

Okay, in a more user friendly answer to Connavar's question:

Some of the regular monthly books that I still read regularly - and these are the ones I enjoy more at the moment:

Astonishing X-Men
Angel: After The Fall
Buffy Season 8
Crossed
The Boys
Fables
Captain America
& others that I shall not mention at this point!

I've just finished the first two books of Alan Moore's Promethea, and am now eagerly awaiting the arrival of the other three. I already knew the man was a genius, but ... the man is a genius!

I collect around eight monthly ongoing titles including some Superman and Batman titles, Amazing Spider-man and FF, the new Brave and the Bold along with one or two limited series at any given time. I collected more but had to cut back due to increased medical insurance premiums. :(

I'm reading Abe & Kroenen, a fantastic fancomic posted on livejournal made by a couple of very talented girls. It's about the forbidden love between the Hellboy characters Abe Sapien and Karl Kroenen and it is absolutely hilarious, though still strangely moving and deeply romantic.

I've finished Grant Morrison's JLA: New World Order. It combines great superhero action with epic science fiction.

Just read the collection of the first 5 issues of Buffy series 8 - excellent! And started on Black Orchid (1-3 collected together) tonight - just discovering Gaiman's comic book past, after reading his novels.

I have to agree Patrick, the Buffy Season 8 has been an excellent run, a must for anyone who enjoyed the television series. If you haven't already try and find Angel After the Fall (If you were an Angel fan of course). In much the same way as Buffy, it is the offical season 6, picking up where the show left off.

And if you are looking into Gaiman's comic book past, you cannot miss The Sandman; but the original Books of Magic are worth a look as well.

Heh i forgot to post after this.

I read 10-11 series monthly currently. Cut down from 15-17 cause more book hauls, economic reasons. These are the comics i feel i cant dump, must read :

Jonah Hex
Daredevil
Criminal/Incognito
Captain America
Nova
Gaurdians of The Galaxy
Hercules
X-Factor
The Walking Dead
Invincible
Scalped
Northlanders

Look at that, the only comics we both get monthly are in fact X-Factor, and well X-Factor. That being said I think that Cap and Daredevil are soem of the best books on the market, but buy them in graphic novel format...

Good to know you atleast get Cap and DD as GNs. They are the best superhero i read monthly. Nova are closest after them. Have you tried Nova ? He and Guardians are the first time i have been interested in cosmic series. Its so space opera,sf like fun. Its not like GL with problems its always about some distant parts of the galaxy. Which naturally appeals to sf fan part of me :)

I have read Nova, and did enjoy it, but it comes back to not having enough time to read everything I would lke to!
