First Lines

All she really had wanted to do was to see the crater for herself.
 
As far as clues that something was horribly wrong went; the sun not rising this morning was pretty conclusive.
 
Under normal circumstances I wouldn't tolerate someone trying to kill me. Today however was anyting but normal, and she was the most beautiful assassin I had ever laid eyes on.
 
The scars of the war were everywhere - from the massive cracks in the face of the earth to the fact that the sky was bleeding.

Okay, two lines, but I couldn't leave it at the first, you'd have wondered if I was being unnecessarily rude and abrupt.:rolleyes:

Here's the first line of the book i'm starting, i've only written the prologue and two chapters.
