Well, much to comfort of his devoted fans (not those fairweather ones) GRRM is not rushing and thus the quality of ADWD will assuredly be as high as the others.

And, about Ned being Jon's father...either the joke will be on those of us who like this theory of Jon being a Targ OR those who laugh at us now will be served a big helping of crow pie.

I am sure the DNA test proved clearly that Ned was Jon's father.

The only way that a DNA Test will prove Ned's paternity is if DNA stands for Do Not Ask.

Yet is it not ironic that the man who delved into the parentage of Robert's bastards and who learned the truth of the parentage of Robert's heirs is the very man who we doubt was Jon's natural father. Ned worked so hard to cover up the origins of Jon (either his ******* or his sister's), but he was undone by the search to find the truth about his best friend's kids. Eddard should have given others the grace he so demanded for himself.

I can't really blame him. No one wants another "mad king." Joff caused all kinds of problems during his stint on the throne, and he was really just a puppet of his mother and grandfather.

GRRM is many things, but a contract-breaker is not one of them. He'd get in severe trouble with his US publisher (Bantam), his UK publisher (HarperCollins) and with HBO, who are making the TV series based on the idea that they'll have a completed story to work with.

he get lawsuits for US and UK publisher plus i guessing he have problems publishing again so for those reason alone he finished the series plus the next two books are a bit more plain out stories wise
