The Revived Tolkien Trivia

Indeed it is.
Assuming therefore the Goldhawk didn't want to win, despite knowing the answer, Narkalui wins the river crossing bell, and honour (or burden, which I assume Goldhawk is avoiding:)) of asking the next question.

Well done both of you.

Thank you kindly Goldhawk! Not much of a burden as I have one prepared already:

Who had seldom heard of a hobbit sleeping outdoors?

Yes a fox.
Three's company. Frodo, Pippin and Sam The night after leaving Bag End.

If I answered, I would have to think of a question. And my thinker is on the fritz today. :(

I've no problem with hints, and the (relatively) new spoiler button makes them even easier to swallow for those who don't want the assistance. So, unless Pyan or Marky return to overrule us, I say roll with it (and good job, GH).

The spoiler isn't new; a lot of forums have it. To use it, you have to activate the BBCode. First, choose "More options" when posting. Then activate the BBCode with the icon on the left that looks like a wrench above a piece of paper. You can then use the BBCodes: http://www.sffchronicles.com/help/bb-codes :)

Thank you Narkaliu.

What links a fountain, a balrog slayer, Boromir, and Faromir?

Phew!
In a flash! :)

Well done. A super speedy bell to you.
Please ask another question.

But elsewhere the Elves received him gladly, and few among them hearkened to the messengers from Lindon bidding them beware for Sauron took to himself the name of Annatar, the Lord of Gifts, and they had at first much profit from his friendship.

The Silmarillion, Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age
(also in Lost Tales, but the quote's from The Silmarillion)

Sauron, at that time known as "Annatar"?

And re the spoiler, agreed, however the first time I saw it here in The Chrons was after Brian's last upgrade.

Hmmm, there COULD be more than one answer here (thanks for the reminder AND the thought spurring, oh golden one! :D), but I am thinking of one quote in particular, and mine doesn't involve any dead elves that I can think of...
