So I was wondering why I hadn't come up on this topic, but it always comes up among my friends. So,who is your favorite comic book or graphic novel hero?

Batman is my fav and the reason i even read superhero comics.

Batman.

Without a doubt Batman.

Honourabe mentions go to Deadpool, Wolverrine and Gambit.

Haha Deapool is my second fav. Good to see another DP fan. I loved his wacky old series, soo funny :D

He got voted as 20th Century's best superhero so there is a huge likelyhood that even here he is the most famous.

Who cant like a dark knight who is only human and is about human peak performance fighting against evil.

Probably the Hulk.
Not because of his storyline or villains but just because of the whole Jekyll & Hyde thing. Plus I loved "The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets" and the ever classic "Hulk smash!".
The stories went completely downhill when they made him intelligent and turned him into a proper 'hero'

Heh have you read Planet Hulk?

That made me start to read Hulk.

Cause i like that gone is the smart hulk or even Banner. Left is only the warrior Hulk cause Banner doesnt come out cause he cant survive in that planet.

No, I haven't read any Hulk stuff in years. The stuff I read was the late 70s early 80s ones which were basically the Hulk on the run from the army and General Ross hunting him down all the time. Not sure I like the idea of Banner not being there - the pathos of this intelligent caring man 'trapped' in the form of the Hulk when he gets too angry/upset was great.

Banner isnt totaly gone. I think he will come out later in the event i havent read all of the story yet.

Its interesting to read Planet Hulk. Cause its about the so called heroes in earth feared him so much they send him to what they thought a planet where he wouldnt hurt anyone. But instead he becames a prisoner in a planet where even he isnt unbeatable.

I think the new warrior hulk that isnt all about rage and killing is very interesting. I mean its cool seeing him seeing lead the oppressed people against thier rulers.

I used to love Rogue (xmen) as a kid, along with Gambit, but as I grew up I started loving...... Batman!!! His being human really does lend a certain appeal. I actually despised Superman. He was always such a "goody goody." Now I find him to be... adequate. I really liked him in Emperor Joker, though.

Batman. He's a vigilante--rogue--supercop--rebel--punisher--take charge, do it his own way superhero. He has no magic, other than what he packs in his utility belt, and STILL gets the job done.

Tri

Good description Trice!

But i wouldnt call him a punisher. Its a line he has refused to cross.

Which makes more interesting cause he refuses to become a murderer to take down his enemies.

I'd also have to put a vote in for batman. :) It always seemed to me that superheroes with 'powers' were cheating. After all, batman is only human.

Spidey. The Stan Lee version, preferably with Steve Ditko.

Wow, so almost everyone is a fan of Batman, huh? Does anyone not like him? Personally, I'm not a fan (at all) of the Hulk.

Finding a Batman hater is like finding a needle in haystack;)

Me i rank my superheroes in this order.

1 Batman(clear winner)
2. Deadpool
3. Punisher
4. Nightwing
5. Daredevil

You see which ones i like they all in commen they are street level heroes that dig in on the dirt ,lowlives, killers etc that the big guns likes Supes dont bother with.

top 5 least fav :

1. Superman(too strong, too lame,too boy scout)
2. Wonder Woman
3. Iron Man
4. Mr. Fantastic
5. Cyclops.

They all have in common too stong, uninteresting, goody-goody.

I mean Iron Man is a fascist now but he will still be right cause.

I really love the manga heroine Nausicaää! And Swamp Thing, after the series took a turn to taoism. Neil Gaimans Death is every goths favourite,I guess. (I am a kind of a grownup goth)

I like som villains too, like Poison Ivy, but that is a whole other subject - OR IS IT?

Modern heroes are becoming increasingly ambigues and ambivalent, do you not think so too?

Batman and Deapool are awesome. But my vote is currently stuck between Spider-man and Hellboy.

Spider-man would probably be my overall favourite, as i grew up with him, and he has the traits of a character people can relate to, has had some brilliant stories, some of the best villians and two and a half of the best Movies.

Hellboy is my current favourite, because he is just a breath of fresh air. He has the dark surroundings and mystery of his orgins, gets a lot of action and takes no crap from anyone. i love how he is just expressionless at most of the weird junk that gets throw at him, and his use of the word 'crap' and 'sonnova' is wellplaced and hilarious.

My top five are currently:

1.Spider-man
2.Hellboy
3.Batman
4.Deadpool (thought Technically an anti hero)
5.Rorschach

Least Favourite:

Superman - agreed, too much power and not enough personality.
Jean Grey - Whine Whine Whine Wimper...

and thats all i can think of...
