Top 5 favorite characters?

I'm wondering which characters you guys like the most. Might help me understand some of your motivations for the arguments you make as well. They don't have to be POV characters but all of mine happen to be POVs:

1)Daenerys
2)Tyrion
3)Jon
4)Arya
5)Jaime*

*I'm conflicted on Jaime though. I love his POV chapters but I'm not sure I like him as a person. Throwing Bran off the tower and killing a king don't sit well with me. Although, I vaguely remember there being some actual reason he killed the king.

You shouldnt feel discomfort with Jaime....he threw Bran from the tower to keep the realm from descending into war, and killed Aerys to keep Kings Landing from burning....you know, think of the smallfolk.:D
 
I suppose I should probably try to put my favorites in actual order. I'm going with the ones I like as people...rather than ones I think are just awesome characters in the book, because Petyr and Tywin are both great characters...but I hate them so much.

1. Tyrion
2. Aemon
3. Arya
4. Jon
5. Ned (I really love him...but he's keeping secrets...and that hurts him a bit)

Oh, and I can't really love Jamie anymore...he grew on me when he got a POV and I forgave most of his faults...but the Tysha thing really does push me over the edge...you can claim he was trying to protect the realm with Aerys and Bran...but poor Tyrion.

It is tough however, as I haven't reread the books and therefore it has been a LONG time. I'm afraid to reread the set as I'll get jumpy for the next one again after managing to put the withdrawal on the back burner.

In no particular order:

Danny, just for the interestingness and fresh views her chapter's bring, and for the fact she's a pretty quick ass person sometimes.

The Hound, sure he's got his faults but that makes a great character, he's a pretty decent guy and interesting.

Dolorous Edd, ****, he's just funny as hell xD.

Tyrion, Just a misunderstood lil dwarf born to the wrong house xD But yea he's both good and bad, another one like the Hound.

Arya, interesting POVs on the smaller scales of the war and her developments interesting, if not sliiightly slow at sometimes.


Edit: probably should have put Jon in there, dunno. His POVs are interesting and the people he interacts with but he's kinda whitebread himself

How can Howland Reed be your fav characters list? :p my memory is pretty ***** this last year *Cough* xD but I'm pretty sure he's never once seen in the books.

Seriously though...thats the part you quibble with? Not that my top 5 is 12 people long? But that one of em hasnt actually had any screen time?

I'm about half way through the third book. Here's my five so far.

1) Daenerys
2) The Hound
3) Bronn
4) Mance Rayder
5) Tyrion's wild mountain men. (Can't remember the exact names and am too lazy to look). Shagga, Timett, and Chuck. Something like that.

As I continue reading I'm hoping to find numbers two through five joining forces with number one, her dragons, and three thousand Unsullieds. They could then proceed to chop up and roast most of the lords and ladies of the Seven Kingdoms.

I think that would be fun. :D
 
Meh I only have one, it's Tyrion!!!!!

I think I'll just repeat his name five times, kinda like a mantra...:)
 
Of the main characters, Dany and Tyrion.
Of the rest, Arianne Martell, Baristan Selmy, Dolorous Edd and Sandor Clegane.
