What literary delights are you delving into this December?

First time reading it? God I hope so. I just finished it not too long ago for my first time. I didn't want to be the only one who was so far behind. ;)

I just finished The Revenge of the Witch by Joseph Delaney and now I'm reading the The Golem's Eye by Jonathan Stroud... it's the second book in the Bartimaeus series.I love that sarcastic dijinni. I'll be stuck on him for a good week before I can pick up anything else.

Has anyone read Stephanie Meyers vampire books? They are the Twilight Series... I hear she is a good read.

I read Magician for the first time only months ago. I was like 20 years behind :p

I've been in the 'I can't believe you haven't read that yet' category lately as well. I'm currently reading 'The Swords Trilogy' by Michael Moorcock.

Just starting the 4th Harry Potter. They're getting better but I'm still wondering what all the fuss is about.

Reading Vampyrrhic Rites - Simon Clark. I read Vampyrrhic sometime back and it was ok but this seems a little better at the moment.

Finished Fahrenheit 451 which was a wonderful read not least because reading it I felt it very much had the feeling of the 1950's and yet so many of his predictions and concerns were eerily accurate.

And now for something completely different.... Outlaws of the Marsh (Water Margin) I've been wanting to read some fiction from Asia for awhile now and this seemed like a good place to start, although I'm also ordering some more recent books. Unfortunately of neccessity it is an English translation (by Sydney Shapiro) but still something I am very much looking forward to having a look at.

Have just started reading an 'oldie' -- Mirror Image by Michael Coney (1972). A friend keeps going on about what a great writer he was and I've never read any, so...

Finished Kafka's "The Trial" and now started on "The Lies of Locke Lamora" by Scott Lynch, which is good so far (about halfway).

Just finished re-reading Never Let me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. First time i read it I troubled me for weeks.

Don't they realise what they are for! Why don't they run away or say no! but then I'm just going along with eveyone else, day to day, following the status quo and accepting what's put in front of me.

You mean Prince Corum trilogy?

If it is let me know what you think about it in MM forum.

Im about to get those books.

I'm well into The Privilege of the Sword. It is not as engaging as the 1st book, Swordspoint. I'm finding it a lighter read, probably since the main character is a 15 year old girl. It's still nice to have the continuation (20 years later) of the main characters from the previous book.

After the rollercoaster ride of The Dark Tower, which took a full month to complete, I'm re-reading an old favourite - Tigana, by Guy Gavriel Kay.

Re-reading Big Sur by Jack Kerouac. I feel in the mood for stream on consciousness stuff...:)

The Moving Target by Ross Macdonald

First Lew Archer book and im liking it very much.

Now on fourth Harry Potter. The writing is definately getting stronger but sill feel she has a long way to go to deserve all the hype.
