Well, I tell you something about waiting. I was seven years old when I readed "Hobbit" very first time. Year was 1982 and Estonia was part of "big friendly family" - Soviet Union Empire behind Iron Curtain. It was time when those sneaky ******* russians in Moscow decided about everything: how to walk, how talk, how to live, how to die. And of course they decided, what kind of books we can read. So they decided that "Hobbit" was harmless book for children, but LOTR has dangerous ideas inside - about freedom, good and evil, fall of an empire. So "Hobbit" was translated into estonian, but no LOTR. IT was only mentioned in the end of the book, that Tolkien wrote also a trilogy where Bilbo and Gandalf and elves and orcs and dwarwes were inside. It's hard to describe that happiness what I feeled when I readed "Hobbit" and I am no writer so lets skip that part. When I have readed book couple of time and calmed down little bit, then I asked my parents to get me LOTR somehow. But it was impossible, they told me and I had to wait and hope. And so I waited. I waited until the fall of Iron Curtain, fall of Soviet Union, ant then we get our independence. And so in Summer 1998 I opened "Fellowship Of The Ring" for first time. I had to wait one book 16 (sixteen) years! And until next year when " Two Towers" was translated and until next year when the Return of the King" was translated.
"Game of Thrones" was translates into estonian in november 2006, but only first half, waht ended when Ned broke his leg. Second part was published in May 2007, but in december 2006 I decided NO NO NO MORE WAITING. And bought all these books in english. I finished AFFC in early summer because without translation it goes very slowly, and now Iam reading them again. All I wanted to say - it's good to wait, it's giving to you a reason to live.
