Anyone else getting BLOODY peeved off about A Dance With Dragons?

Raul, your story on patience in the face of oppression gave me goose bumps. I salute you. By the way, is Raul a common name in Estonia?.
Yes it's quite common, but we started to use it only sixty or seventy years ago.

Ah, but this is the choice you make with fantasy series. Do you wait until the last volume is published, then read them all, or do you read them now, and endure the often painful wait between volumes? You can't complain, you knew the series was still a work in progress when you started the first one. besides, there are so many other great series out there to read to pass the time, you'll never notice the years fly by. Read the Wheel of Time. Then read the Malazan Books of the Fallen. Then R Scott Bakker, then Scott Lynch, then Ricardo Pinto then Joe Abercrombie then Robin Hobb. Try a little Sci-Fi, Peter F Hamilton, Stephen Baxter or Alastair Reynolds. Then ADWD will be on the bookstore shelves and you'll wonder how you're going to find the time to read it.

This won't be a problem for me. I'll just drop everything I'm currently reading even if I'm right in the middle of a book. ASOIAF is the #1 priority. More likely though, we'll know the exact date of its release and I'll simply clear my reading schedule in the weeks leading up to it.

I'm holding out for George to don a bright red suit, hire a sleigh with a few magical flying reindeer, land on my roof in the cold north of Canada, slide down my sotty chimney, dance around the fire in the fireplace, sit down and eat the milk and cookies left out by my son, and tenderly place a beautifully wrapped, personaly autographed copy of ADWD, under my Christmas tree.
No I'm not peeved off, just waiting like everyone else. *Note* The next best thing to the mentioned above, would be an announcement over the holidays that "yes I am finished".
Plus I enjoy everyones company here, even if we are only rehashing the same old same old. Its jolly fun !!!;)

Yup and the best fun is waiting for the next far out theory, its like watching X-Files everyone throwing around conspiracy theories :p And yes great people on this forum

I don't think he's anywhere near complete. Just read his latest "not a blog" entry and he mentioned re-writing an entire Tyrion chapter by changing the POV on it. He also mentioned he's keeping the "old version" of the chapter form Tyrion's POV in case he ever wants to go back to it. Sounds like he's still in MAJOR writing stages of the book, not anywhere near putting any "finishing touches" on it so to speak.

I can say that I am peeved that it has taken so long. I used to read the not a blogs, but I despise football. It doesn't really matter that other people on here think that waiting is just fine, the topic of this thread asks the question, and I answered. What makes me the most peeved is that it will be released in hard cover first, and the paperback won't come out for another half a year. I just can't afford to buy all the books I want to own, in harcover.

Okay, I'll expect it somewhere in '09.

Meanwhile, it's back to the rest of my life.;)

What do you guys think the odds are that the entire series will be completed? By what year? I'm going to say 30% chance the series is completed and if it is completed the last book will come out in the year 2017.

Yes, it's been said that this is a pre-planned series. So, let's hope Georgie's got some great notes to follow in case he prematurely kicks off.

ASoIaF is heavy burden. Time is not constant. It is a daily strength, made of inspiration and writing-condition.
