I'm about a third of the way through Joe Abercrombie's 'The Blade Itself', must say I'm loving this book so far and am really enjoying Glokta's little thoughts, very dry humour just up my street.
Have already bought 'Before They Are Hanged' and hope it's as good as this one seems to be.
Also just picked up a brand new hardback of Simon Scarrows new book 'Centurion' from my local Asda's for a shockingly cheap £7.87 so that will be next after Abercrombie's two.

The last book I read was Scott of the Antarctic, a look at the life and circumstances of British naval man and explorer Robert Scott, who led 2 Antarctic expeditions, perishing in the second one. It was pretty fascinating reading, and really immersed one in the perilous adventure that Scott and his crew took on. Scott himself is a very interesting character, at once full of hearty confidence and brutal self-doubt.

Definitely recommended for people who like to read stories of adventure and endurance.

Been continuing with the Moorcock, reading The Dragon in the Sword and The Golden Barge; as well as various journals I've been meaning to get around to for a while. As for the next novel... it's a toss-up at the moment between The Blood Red Game (Moorcock again) and No Name, by Wilkie Collins....

reading a book called Stonehenge by Brian Corwell. Never read his books before and although its easy reading its not particularly exciting or overly interesting. Still it happened to be sitting around (Mal's mother sent it to him for his birthday) so I though I would pick it up and see what it was about. I am almost finished but it hasn't inspired me to want to buy any of his other books. Not even in my top 1000.

This Immortal by Roger Zelazny

I was hooked from the first scene. Such a talented writer he was.

This month I've finished off The First Book of Lankhmar by Fritz Leiber, Confessor by Goodkind, and Space Cadet by Robert A. Heinlein. I think the next book I'm going to work on will be Frank Herbert's The Dosadi Experiment.

Have just finished The Wheel Of Tme Book2(The Great Hunt) by Robert Jordan, I am now re-reading The Truth by Terry Pratchett

Paperback Fanatic #6
And dipping into Years Best Horror 2 and Meddling With Ghosts.

just finished Mistborn. Loved it! Trying to talk myself into buying the hardcover of the second versus waiting until june for the paperback...

although, i've got plenty of others to occupy me. Next, I think either Sea of Glory by Philbrick or another novel, maybe Hobb or Marco or Hamilton or Cornwell or Silverberg or etc....

My god, i need to get crackin'...

Started off on a collection of stories by this guy called Dylan Thomas. Man, this guy's work seems to be a textbook of surreal mood-piece writing.

Would you believe, I've never read any Robin Hobb.

Would you recommend them, Tal? And if so, where would you start if you were beginning again?
