Book Covers

I love when a book has a good cover. I'm sure I have purchased several books just due to the excellent cover. The series that really stands out to me as having good covers is Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series. a series that I really enjoyed that had terrible cover art in my opinion was David Coe's Winds of the Forelands. I loved the books but I can't help but think that if he had Butcher's cover artist he would of sold a lot more books. I also liked Erikson's Gardens of the Moon cover.

There have been several covers of Gardens of the Moon. Which one did you like?

Super Vance Ace Double. Have it, read it, love it.Typical of the sixties and typically great for Gaughan.

Murphy my favorite Garden of the Moon cover was the one with the mountain side tower on the front.

Here are a couple from an Ace Double of Jack Vance stories. The artist is Jack Gaughan. The style is typical, I think for the period (mid 1960s). Sorry the condition of the covers isn't better.

Heh i was looking to buy that double from ebay not so long ago.

The first cover, the aliens looks very mysterious, badass. I gotta get this version that book.

If you wanna get rid of those books you know where to go

Don't know if it's already been posted but I found an intersting website with what looks like any cover you could ever think of. Cover Browser

Dossouye a collection Sword and Sorcery stories set in ancient alternate Africa by Charles.R Saunders. The title name is after the female hero of the stories.

He is a bit famous for Imaro from 70s,80s. A quality S&S series who has a rare African fantasy setting based on ancient African history.

This is why I keep my distance from sf conventions. Women fighting over me every time I walk into a room!
Art by Edward Valigursky.
