Signing Events.

So Mark,
I hear your coming to Waterstones, Witney soon.
(If you're not coming, they'll be disappointed);) *Mischievous Grin*
Ed - Threddy

Threddy,

I don't have anything in the diary for Witney, but I will ring them and sort that out next week. In the meantime, however, I will be in Aylesbury Waterstones on Saturday this week (5th May) if anyone wants to drop by and say hello. :)

Mark,

Sorry we missed you in Aylesbury - I've only just read this, I'm afraid! How did it go?

I sold out by about 3.30pm, Patrick, so I'd say it went pretty well, thanks. :)

Just finished yet another edit of Imperial Traitor and already had the response from the editorial team that they are finally content with it. Phew! The final version is a lot better than my first effort, so many thanks to all who have had an input into polishing it up.

Great to hear the signing went well Mark.

On a related note, I recall you saying on one of the threads here some time back that you had done signing events to coincide with the launch of the last couple of Harry Potter books, and had found them very successful. Do you have plans to do that again in July, when the last Harry Potter book comes out?

Anything penciled in for Imperial Traitor launch yet near Bristol mark?

Great to catch up with you in Aylesbury this time round, Mark - how did you feel by the end of Saturday? Did you sell all the books you'd taken with you? It was certainly looking pretty good when I popped it at lunchtime! :)

I never take stock to Waterstones stores, Patrick. I can't supply them direct, unfortunately. We did run out of Imperial Spy quite early, which meant that I left a little earlier than I had intended, but that's not all bad. I did lose a few sales through lack of stock, but we sold more than I had anticipated anyway, so I wasn't disappointed by the result. Aylesbury is proving a surprisingly good venue for a town of its size. :)

Saw in my local Waterstones that you're coming back to Wycombe, gonna be great seeing you again!

Thanks for the reminder, Atra. I popped into the Waterstone's in High Wycombe last Saturday, and was pleasantly surprised to see a display of Imperial Traitor books in the window, in front of a poster advertising Mark's appearance next Saturday.

Anyone else from Chronicles live near to Wycombe? :)

The first signing event for Dragon Orb: Firestorm is not going to be in a bookshop! It will be in my local games store, which happens to stock a few SFF books (including mine).

I will be signing copies on 26th July 08 from 10am until 2pm at The Games Vault - see: The Games Vault - Home. If you are on my personal customer mailing list, then you should be getting a letter within the next week with an order form. The copies will be in the publisher's warehouse this week, though it is not officially launching into the bookshops until 4th August. The Daventry signing is my one pre-launch event!

If you can't make it to Daventry on 26th July, then you can either ring the store on 01327 310541 beforehand and they will take orders over the phone to reserve signed copies that will then be mailed out to you. Alternatively, you can catch up with me in Milton Keynes WH Smith on 29th and 30th August, or in Witney Waterstones on 6th September.

Hope to catch up with some of you soon. :)

1 month tommorow until the launch!
Is your mailing list still in operation?
And do you have any other places in the diary yet?

Yes, Matt, you should get your letter early next week ... and your book as early as the week afterwards if you order straight away. I have got some other venues in the pipeline, but I've not confirmed them all yet. I'll put them up on the news page of my website soon. :)

Are you in London at all Mark for a book signing? Ahh just missed the thread, you're at Harrods :) I'll try and make that one to pick up my signed copy :)
