This new trailer looks fab. I love the shot of Jaime looking smug while sitting on the Iron Throne at about 15 secs in. I'm getting so excited about the show now!

GRRM and the producers have confirmed that the gay relationship between Loras and Renly will be a bit more obvious and a bit more on-the-nose than in the books (when it's so subtle I know people who've never caught onto it).

Interesting. I wondered how they were going to handle this. Even in the books it's not immediately obvious until late in Book 2, after it really matters, so putting it in Season 1 ahead of time makes more sense.

When will this be aired in the UK/US? I just got the first 2 books but I am really into The Name of the Wind and would like to finish it before I start AGOT. I actually want to know dates for South Africa.

I'm one of those who didn't see it in the book. Too subtle for me! So a big yay from me that it's more obvious in the TV show!

Sunday 17 April 2011 on HBO. UK date not confirmed, but Saturday 23 April is currently considered to be the most likely date.

The series will be shown on M-Net in South Africa (channel DSTV 110). No date confirmed yet.

Slightly disappointing that he's not as old in the books. Not sure if they're just ignoring the whole "He's 91!" thing (which unless they're going to do the Dunk 'n' Egg short stories at some point probably is completely unimportant anyway) or he's looking really good for his age
