One Hit Wonders (SFF Authors that are noted for just one story)

Haven't read it, just remember seeing it when it came out. Checked my card catalog a minute ago and I do have it but it's not on my shelf, which means it's buried in a box in the attic. I've wanted to read it, maybe I'll go dig it out next weekend and set it aside. Think I bought it because of Rollerball.

It was on my shelf, I just didn't see it. Blind without my reading glasses. Judging from the cover it could swing either way depending on the force of one's biases. I had my next book picked out but now I may postpone it.

I wonder if that's Gary K. Wolfe? He wrote an author study and some academic genre books.

He also reviews books for Locus. I have his collection of reviews, Soundings. I assume it's the same bloke.

are we talking about 'hits'?

I have never heard of these books.

"Hits" or "SFF Authors that are noted for just one story."

WORLD OF THE SLEEPER by Tony Russell Wayman

The Minds Of Billy Milligan is a fascinating non-fiction study of multiple-personality; my copy happens to reside on the shelf right beside my computer.

I read that book many years ago and was very impressed. I need to go hunt down a copy now...

I'm grateful I'm not the only one who was thinking that. I haven't heard of most of these books too. Though, in my defense, SF&F books made up only a small portion of books in stores and libraries when I was growing up (in South Africa).
