I wonder how thick this "Meereenese knot" is. I know he mentioned that he was having an issue with the ages of the younger children (Starks), in which was giving him problems. He mentioned that the series ending was bittersweet.

I cant help but to think that if he is as close as everyone suspects, he would be able to knock it out being that he's about 98% done with ADWD. The "Soon" talk has been going on for months. I'm thinking he's alot further away from completing than everyone is giving him credit for. (those citing end of the year)

Obviously, the plotline is complex enough to give Albert Einstein an aneurism.

Does anyone know of any other possible roadblocks that he may be encountering? (besides the fact that he's racking up the frequent flier miles)

My prediction will remain Spring 2012.

I will attempt to be optimistic on my pessimistic (as the days turn into months) increasingly realistic prediction, i will say March 20th, 2012 since that is the first day of Spring.

I was somehow going to correlate it to this year's blue moon.

Unfortunately we have the span of two corn moons before another blue one is upon us.

And that wouldn't be an optimistic answer.

Seems he's close, but proximity to the destination is increasing drag.

I know this was covered recently by GRRM and someone on this site (the odds are fair that it was Wert). And yep, I think that's exactly what's planned for ADWD - it'll overlap as well as advance the story.

I don't know what that means for picking up the other half of characters though (I can never remember the reports of which characters will feature).

And let us rejoice! For it is soon the 20th and it shall be a good day indeed with regard to this thread...
