aSoIaF Trivia Game

hm... this is hard indeed. There is Red Wedding, Red Rain, Red Comet, Red Cloaks (Cersei's guard or something like that so maybe that? I'm not sure if that is canon though...),...

Red Cloaks were the slang used for Lannister guards in King's Landing. Tyrion sent almost all of them on the failed attempt to free Jaime.

Your turn!

When Haggon was teaching Varamyr their craft, he singled out several animals and his opinion on warging into those animals. Name the animals and his opinions.

I remember that dogs are easiest to bond with and after possessing birds the warg is obsessed with flying, though other animals were mentioned too, I can't recall them.

Deer and Elk are to be avoided because they are prey and spending too long as prey will make even the bravest man turn craven.
shadow cats are vain and cruel
wolves are best, and they "mate for life"
birds are bad news because men will spend too much time wanting to fly
of coures men, but that would be an abomination

can't think of any others. I know when they had the gathering of skin changers there was a woman with a goat, and a man with a boar, and another person that had a boar.

Nice one, Arsten. As for bears, boars, weasels, and badgers, Haggon didn't think much of them.

That about covers all. Your turn.

Jumping in.... with a three part trivia.

Who won the melee at Bitterbridge, who won the melee in the Hand's Tournament, and how did these champions finally meet?

Bitterbridge was won by Brienne of Tarth and Hand's Tournament was won by Thoros of Myr. They meet when BwB under Lady Stoneheart captures Brienne.

Melee at hand tournament was thoros of myr, don't know who won the other melee, but I would guess they both met in the brotherhood without banners.

At one point, Barristan contemplates if it would be better for Daenerys and Westeros if Daario were to die at the hands of Yunkai forces. He lists some examples from the history of Seven Kingdoms about love being a ruin for the realm. He names four women for which the realm bleed. Name the women and their respective suitors.

I'll try to guess before I look for it.... Most likely all of them deal with Targaryen kings and princes...

Naerys Targaryen, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, wife of Aegon IV and supposed lover of Aemon the Dragonknight (both of them were her brothers).

Lyanna Stark, Daughter of Rickard, fiancee of Robert the Usurper and supposed lover (and maybe wife) to Crown Prince Rhaegar.

What other women inspired men to kill each other? Cersei? No. Sansa? No. Loras? No.

How about the daughters of the Brackens and Blackwoods?

Great question, I've found the chapter, but I never would have guessed them, although some of the names are somewhat familiar. Let's see if anyone else can get them without cheating.

Nope nope. None of the above. Boaz, you were on the right track when you said that the Targaryens were the people in question.

Groot, I found it too. But I'm leaving for work and won't get back to my computer until Sunday night, so I'll leave it to you!

Prince Rhaegar loved his Lady Lyanna and thousands died for it. Daemon Blackfyre loved the first Daenerys, and rose in rebellion when denied her. Bittersteel and Bloodraven both loved Shiera Seastar and the Seven Kingdoms bled. The Prince of Dragonflies loved Jenny of Oldstones so much he cast aside a crown, and Westeros paid the bride price in corpses. All three of the sons of the fifth Aegon had wed for love in defiance of their father's wishes. And because that unlikely monarch had followed his heart when he chose his queen, he allowed his sons to have their way, making bitter enemies when he might have made fast friends. Treason and turmoil followed, as night follows day, ending at Summerhall in sorcery, fire and grief.

More clever research than knowledge used here. Only three Barristan POV chapter.
I know most of the names, but don't remember their stories, apart from Summerhall.
Jenny of Oldstones has a song if I remember.
