Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Same. I hae not writ one signifigant word for.... three months? -except for in here. FULL-ON Writers block brought on by a savage monkey attack, I'll be fine. ( Twitch, gibber) lATER. Maybe.
Twick or tweet huh. .

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

I have the makings of a tale.

I concerns a monkey a banana and a canary and a puddycat.

Seriously though, it's a tricky topic and no mistake. It's hard to avoid the obvious connection to the end of the mon.....

Oh....

I may have to go all poetic :eek:WHAAAA:eek:

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

I've been so sick the last few days, right now the creative part of my mind feels like it is full of mud.

Get well soon, TE! Personally I'm tempted to start trying to publish my lesson plans, it's all I seem to write these days. ;)

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Best wishes to everyone who's feeling under the weather (so to speak) - re: Karn, Teresa - or suffering savage monkey attacks.

I seem to have gone the way of Harebrain this month (and an excellent story it is too HB) by declaring I'll need some time, only to find myself scribbling away in the dark at 3 a.m last night.

Will post later in the week though.

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

I'm liking TDZ's one a lot. No ideas in my head yet.

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

I've actually written something this month after a 3 month hiatus on entering any challenges. I'm going to hold off on posting though, justin case inspiration strikes again in the next couple days, and the new inspiration is more exciting than the old :)

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Well I've posted something for this month. If I hadn't rushed to get it done now, it simply wouldn't have happened.

Hope it doesn't upset anyone (Parson?). I know it is not historically accurate but just a little fun!

Welcome back, Bookstop. Look forward to reading it. (I voted for your first one, you know ;))

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Oh and I should have said I'm liking the stories so far. Particularly Talysia (mischievous), DFM (lovely) and TDZ (I know the feeling).

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Thanks, guys! I generally am steadfast about not even letting myself think about the challenge theme for about a week, but this one just wouldn't let go. It kept worrying at me and I had to do something. I'll probably write a dozen more this month! Does it count as "rejects" if you write them after posting one?

I had to go back and edit a couple of times as things fell into a different line in my head, and of course when I woke up this morning there was another one staring me in the face but it was too late. I should have waited, but I saw TEIN's post about having to go poetic and thought I'd better hurry! :)

I just realized that three out of seven stories I have posted are poems (I won't necessarily go so far as to label them poetry, that would be presumptuous), and I don't even write poetry! I hereby swear that next month's story will not rhyme. (Yes, that's my definition of poetry, all education to the contrary.)

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

I sketched out the idea for a possible story this morning, but the brain is still pretty much clogged with mud.

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Hoops, you genius. Thought this would be easy, spent ages scratching my head. Not happy at all with end result but I've posted it now.

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Oh no a spelling error!! "ascent" is suppose to be "accent"

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Hehe DFM I was scratching my head about that 'ascent', makes sense now!

And I like yours Nixe - cute ;)

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, Harebrain, I'm loving your story! I can see it's going to be another very tough month already.

Reading the entries will be a treat (until, perhaps, voting time). Trying to compete with them will be more than a little tricky.

(I may have to resort to desperate measures and bring Mrs Sharples back to life, welcoming her with the inevitable: "Hallo, Een....")

Re: Discussing the Writing Challenges -- September and October

Scarily fab entries so far!

I'm on the umpteenth version of an idea, and pretty desperate to get it submitted before someone else comes up with the same thing.

But, I'm gritting my teeth, and going to hold off, as it still needs tweaking.

Really looking forward to some great, dare I say spooky(?), stories this month
