Could be! I think he's probably trying to tell me to get off my bum and take him out for a w.a.l.k though!

There you go (although it's almost twelve here).

(By the way, any allusion to a certain Saints quarterback in an earlier post was entirely unintentional, though somehow appropriate given all those games won from a losing position. :))

ALCHEMIST- So sorry! I've only just read your story (and a gud'un it be, too) and I've noticed I've gone and totally ripped off your title! And I thought I was being sooo original...

No WOrries, J. It's either an example of great minds thinking alike, or we're two of an infinite number of monkeys with keyboards.

Hey, I just wrote a play! Its called Romeo and Juxxyyyhh88'2

Juxxyyyhh88'2? I think that was the name of a spammer we banned last week. You wouldn't be in cahoots with this individual, would you?

Making a note to keep a close eye on this J-WO character.

Less than 13 hours until the Challenge closes. In case anyone who hasn't written a story yet was wondering.

I think so.

Note to Culhwch (and Mouse! Although I don't imagine she'll read it in time, because she's probably asleep by now.) This is not the eleventh hour, but it's a close personal friend.

Presumably to post an entry that's bound to hoover up some votes.

Edit: Oh, I see you have posted.

* Whispers to Sloweye. *

For goodness' sake, don't mention the whip....

Mental images!

I thought that, what with the Challenge subject being what it is, you might inadvertently be goaded into starting a whip-round for your protagonist.

Phew! I think I got away with that....

Cul posted his story with a mere 19 minutes to spare. Just to keep us in suspense. And a very good story it was! I can see him polishing it as the minutes ticked down.

Meanwhile, I was off doing something else for a few minutes, and hit the "Close Thread" button at midnight instead of one minute to, giving people an extra sixty seconds to post. Think what someone could have done with those sixty seconds, if they had only known.

I have been making my list as they were posted this time around and it's ended up looking like this.

No One – It was straight and to the point and didn’t leave me wondering, it completed itself nicely.

Perpetual Man – Fantastic. Not only did it tell such an intricate story in so few words, but it added its own soundtrack and transferred it to the small screen in my head.

Chel – I just liked the idea.

J Riff – for the comedy ending

Mirinda – It was good take, and again told a great story in a short space.

StormFeather - Fantastic one again. You have a true story teller’s gift.

Mouse – Just because it was a moving tale

I think my final two are Perpetual Man and StormFeather... I'm going to take a couple of days to let my mushy brain do battle between them.
