A four-way tie?!? Talk about some excitement!


My vote, as it did the first time, goes to mosaix.

While I'm here, after the first 300 worder someone (sorry, can't remember who) mentioned the possibility of having an "Improving our Challenge Stories" thread separate from the 75s but nothing happened at the time. Anyone want me to set it up now?

I went for the spiders again. If we could avoid another tiebreak and a further rereading it would be all good It's the legs that do it, oh, and the butt cable.

I quite like the idea of the thread, too, for what it's worth.

Well, I had to stick with the original vote, which was alchemist, though the other two were on my shortlist as well. It doesn't look like the tiebreaker is going to do any good!

Maybe if there's still a tie at the end of this one, the winners could just put their heads together and choose a book to send to some worthy cause, such as an orphanage or military hospital or something.

My tiebreaker vote, though, goes to mosaix. Interestingly enough, the four entries were ties again at 4 apiece. My vote puts mosaix in the lead now...

None of my originals made it into the final four either. But I liked the free-flowing conversational style and the unique veiw-point of TSP's - so that's where my vote went.

(I voted for TSP's story. It wasn't just that the whole tale is amusing (which it is); it's also because the last line is brilliant in summing up the protagonists' prideful misunderstanding of their real situation, which deserved, and got, a LOL from me. )

Well I did my bit for a another tie 6 5 6 5 after my vote

I very nearly switched my vote to Platty's wonderful alien arachnoid adventures which was a definite a short list for me but in the end I revoted for DustyZebra, I love stories where you think you know the ending but the author is smarter then you are .

I also voted for the Dusty one. The ending is what did it. It was rather the polar opposite of mine.

Well, it's still pretty tight. The Spurring Platty, alchemist and mosaix are tied up at 6 a piece. But looks like we might finally be heading towards a result, as TheDustyZebra is starting to pull away with 9 votes...

Of course, we do still have a couple of days left... This really is one hell of a close contest.

Once again, congrats to all four for such spectacular entries, that still have people spoilt for choice.
